The Presonus Eris E8 XT is fitted with a carefully designed and solidly built bass reflex cabinet made of vinyl-laminated MDF. As with all the Eris models, the woofers are made of Kevlar, producing a clean and precise bass response and even diffusion through all the lower frequencies. Similarly, the silk dome tweeter and waveguide reproduce all the high frequencies in a very natural way and provide a wide sweet spot in the listening position. Two separate class AB amplifiers respectively provide 65 and 75 Watts of power to the tweeter and woofer.

The Eris E8 XT's crossover section is a great help in this respect. Its switchable low-cut filter suppresses unwanted resonant low frequencies (for example when the speaker is placed close to a wall) and two continuous filters adjust the midrange and treble by plus or minus 6 dB. In addition, the automatic "Acoustic Space" function cleans up the often critical low-midrange and ensures that the sound is reproduced as faithfully as possible. About Presonus

Presonus is a US company founded in 1995 by Jim Odom and Brian Smith in Baton Rouge, Lousiana. Extensive connectivity

As a rule, a pair of E8 XTs are connected to the stereo analogue output of an audio interface or monitor controller. Each speaker is fitted with both a 6.3 mm jack and an XLR input, thus eliminating the need for an adapter. The inputs are balanced and provide 4 dBu of gain as a reference level, as is to be expected from studio equipment. Additionally, the Eris E8 XT is also fitted with an unbalanced -10 dBV RCA input, which allows hi-fi equipment to be connected.

Very impressed - First studio monitors

I use these studio monitors for multimedia and some casual music production. I am willing to buy a synthesizer so it will be at a good use.

Pros: Clear sound, crisp highs, good mids and great bass (I wouldn't have thought that it will have such detail in sound - it is a new level for me, since these are my first studio monitors, no wonder I am impressed by them :)
Very powerful speakers, I am using them on approx 10% volume with an M-Audio Air 192
4 (every knob set to middle on each speaker).
Love the front power indicators, they have a nice blue color but not that distracting at night.

Cons: A little bit tall speakers. Other than this nothing to complain about.

Each speaker comes with a power cable and 4 little pads on which it stands.
Probably the power consumption is higher compared to other speakers with Class-D amps, because these come with a Class-A/B amplifier, but this does not bother me.
Using the TRS connectors with balanced cables, all good.
I do not recommend the use of RCA connectors, because they are unbalanced and anything can interfere with the signal, which results in a heavy white-noise.

I recently ordered these monitors to our country Tajikistan, I am already working on them in my studio, I use them for arranging and mixing, they sound great, I generally wanted to buy a Yamaha hs8 first, listened to a comparison of both monitors and came to the conclusion that Presonus xt 8 sounds clearly denser and more original than the Yamaha hs8, even compared to the 5-inch monitors of these both manufacturers, you can hear from the sound that the presonus gives a crisp low and clear high frequencies.The quality of the workmanship of the external material was a little upset when my hand accidentally brushed the surface , a piece fell off the surface layer of the laminate, but of course everything suits me, and I advise everyone who sits and thinks to order Presonus)).

Ich mach' es kurz, okay?

Ha, vergeßt es. ;)

Nach fast 30-jährigem (jaja, jetzt keinen Spruch) Einsatz mußten zwei Passiv-Monitore von YAMAHA ausgetauscht werden, da der Verstärker "endlich" mal kaputt ging und ich Aktivboxen als deren Nachfolger schon lange ins Auge gefaßt hatte.

Die Monitore stehen bei mir nun mal ziemlich nahe an der Wand und wer in der Audio-Schule halbwegs aufgepaßt hat, der weiß, daß Bassports auf der Rückseite hier ganz, ganz unpassend sind. Also enfielen YAMAHA HS 7/8 oder irgendetwas Bauartgleiches. Die Modelle von Rokit (7/8) entfielen leider ebenfalls, da dort bereits in den Bewertungen sowie in diversen YouTube-Videos durchgängig ein Rauschen moniert wurde. Schade, aber so ist es nunmal. Außerdem ist bei den Rokit G4 die Regelbarkeit über die rückseitigen Displays (Class D-Verstärker machens möglich) nicht wirklich praxistauglich: fummel, umdreh, hör, fummel, umdreh, hör, usw. ...

Preislich: es ging hier bei meiner Geschichte gar nicht mal um 50 oder 80 Euro pro Box mehr oder weniger. Völlig egal. Es geht um die Praxistauglichkeit. Gut ist die fast grenzenlose Klang-Regelbarkeit der verbauten Class A/B-Verstärker in den Eris Ex-Modellen, denn Class D-Verstärker erlauben meistens nur wenige fest definierte Parameter, siehe Presonus R65/R80 und Baugleiche von anderen Herstellern. Für die Programmierer unter uns: Matrizen sind nunmal einfacher zu berechnen...

Nun ja, ich bestellte also testweise 2 x Presonus Eris E7 XT und 2 x Presonus R65. Mein Hörabstand ist ca. 90 cm. Ergebnis: die R65 rauschten hörbar und die Eris E7 XT brummten hörbar.

Was soll ich ich hier lange labern, schaut Euch einfach die bestehenden Brumm-Bewertungen der E7 an. Schade! Die E7 ist nämlich an sich ein Hammer-LS und prinzipiell auch mein Favorit! Die RT 65, nun ja, prinzipiell auch klasse, aber guckt Euch auch hier mal die Bewertungen an: überpräsente Hoch-Mitten (ist wirklich so, hatte ich zuerst auch nicht geglaubt), beim Gesang und oder beim einen oder anderen Gitarren-Riff kann die Dir das mal eben so ganz locker das Ohr abschneiden. "Aua" sag ich nur. Und dieses Rauschen, so ganz ohne Pegel... :(

Tja, was machste nun? E7 brummt und R65 rauscht. Pest oder Cholera? So schnell gibt man sich ja nicht geschlagen, also flugs ein Paar Eris E7 XT im Austausch bestellt. Ergebnis: E7 XT (höhere Seriennummer) brummt nun etwas weniger, aber auf 90 cm Hörabstand leider immer noch hörbar. Mist...

Doch da: die Idee! Die Eris E8 XT müßte doch aufgrund der höheren Verstärkerleistung ein größeres Netzteil haben, oder? Dadurch ist sie vielleicht auch besser gegen den bösen Brummbär abgeschirmt? Hmm...

Also die E8 bestellt und siehe da: GEHT DOCH!

Nun habe ich leider viel zu große Boxen in meinem kleinen Raum, aber... nicht schlecht... das bleibt jetzt so.

D'autres on dit ce qu'il y avait à en dire mieux que je ne saurait le dire moi-même !
Pour mes petites oreilles encore non initiée, l'écoute devient autre chose, je redécouvre mes propres morceaux comme mes classiques.

Son précis, réglages efficaces, design sympa même si l'enceinte est en plastique, ce dernier est de qualité. Un (très) léger souffle à l'allumage qui disparait totalement à l'écoute même à petit régime.

Pour des premières enceintes de monitoring, il y a de quoi se faire plaisir.

Pour info, j'ai passé quelques heures à chercher le bon câble de raccordement. Quel Jack ou quel XLR ?
J'ai finalement opté par un câble mixte XLR/alim (Stairville SP-Audio Hybrid-Cable) afin de centraliser les alimentations de mes enceintes sur une multiprise de qualité avec un coupe circuit. Cable couplé avec un adaptateur XLR/Jack (pro snake TPA 1003 MJ) pour le raccordement sur ma carte son (Scarlett 2i2).
Pour fixer les enceintes au mur, j'ai opté pour les supports "Millenium Multi Monitormount MM1" qui demandent une petite adaptation pour accepter ces enceintes trop profondes de 20mm mais qui n'effraiera pas quelqu'un.e d'un peu bricoleur.

En conclusion, je suis très satisfait de ces moniteurs que je recommande vivement.
