Protec PB-310 C Case for Soprano Sax

I bought a pre-owned SC 991 in early 2017. It came in the original case, which looked in very good condition, no scuffs on the outside. However, I did notice that the lining around the lip of the bell was not well fitted and lacked padding. I thought that this could become a problem eventually, or had already. I checked the saxophone over and noticed a slight crease on the edge of the lower lip of the bell. This damage I believe was caused because of the the bad fit and finish of the original case.
I used the instrument in the summer of 2017, it was great for travelling as the size of the original case fitted my carry-on flight hand luggage. After the summer was over I put the soprano away as I was using other instruments for different projects.
Fast forward to the beginning of 2022 and I decide to sort out the SSC 991 case. I did a search for a replacement case and decided on the Protec, but there was apparently non around. So I left it alone. When later I was looking for a case for another instrument I noticed that Protec had revamped their cases and the one for the curved soprano looked just right.
I am very pleased with the case, so is my repair technician. The handy external pocket is really useful and the fit of the instrument is perfect. I would recommend this case as an alternative to the original.
