I'm quite impressed, I have to admit.

the level of building quality and attention to details are quite astonishing in this guitar and considering the price range.
talking about the PU ful HB and spli coil: no, you don't have a pure single coil stra/tele sound when splitted but definitely you have awarm and beautifully voiced sort of single coil pickup with a lot of attack. What really surprised me was both sustain and clarity.
Bridge (fixed) is one of the best you can find on the market in my opinion. The neck is a wide fat, which means nicely chunky and bold. positively. I personally find it very comfortable considering I normally had sort of slimmer necks in other guitars I owned.
It is a pleasure to play: it sings literally.

What a guitar
Zennificator 16.01.2020
I was hesitating between an MIM strat or the Paul's guitar SE.
So glad I've choose this one. The build is fabolous for a non american guitar. The split coil brings versatility on another level. You can easily have a telli like sound with the splitted bridge or strat like with the splitted neck, while having the chance to play hard humbucker sounds when need. The neck and the fretboard are addictive to be touched and to look at with the real abalone inlays. Only downside the tone knob frequency cut is very narrow but they've never done miracles on mid range guitars anyway. As many before me said it... A lot of guitar for the price, thanks Paul to have brought the concept to the SE line.

Some issues
EnuffZNuff 16.09.2021
It was a long time coming - but that's okay. However, it has got high spots on the frets making it buzz oob and the neck had no relief what so ever. I would expect a guitar at this price point to be set up correctly! In terms of sound and feel, this guitar sounds excellent, and with a good set up it should play well, but come-on guys, you can do better!

C
great guitar great value!
CHAGRI 20.04.2019
I have the aqua one which has a great harmony with it's real shell abalone bird inlays, in general looks great!
I have changed the strings and put 010 ernie ball as the gauge string was 009 and set it up. It has a very smooth playing and the neck is wide fat neck which feels solid and comfortable. Very nice fret work, almost no buzz with low string action and great sustain! The guitar is not heavy so it's very comfortable very resonant in that sesnse, the figured veneer looks so beautiful, and the carves are so smooth and made very well and feels so comfortable, not much different than the core models, Pickups are nice and they sound so warm, and they are also nice when used as single coil which gives a stratty true single coil tone just like the demo video! In overall i am impressed and i loved it!
