Good installation amp, reliable at a good price
THoward 09.01.2020
We used one of these amps to replace a Crown digital which had failed in a typical digital way and was facing a serious repair bill. It was recommended to us as being a tried and tested amplifier design based on tested technologies to be long lasting, robust and reliable in true QSC fashion. It hasn't disappointed and has been running 24/7/365 for 18 months in that installation now without ever missing a beat.
The fan control keeps it quiet under normal operation. The sonic properties of the amp are well covered by the other reviews here and I agree with them, but in our application ease of installation, cost and long term reliability and repairability were our main interests and the amp performs very well against those needs.

J
Really nice low cost amp
Jason7773 27.11.2015
I've used higher end and much more expensive QSC models in the past and had until now tended to use Yamaha P3500/5000 & 7000 for low cost jobs. The first GX model I purchased was a GX5 on a bit of a punt as I've known some very good high end manufacturers really miss the mark producing entry level products. But it did not disappoint, so much so I bought two of these GX3s shortly afterwards to replace some Behringer power amps. Hands down these beat the nearest equivalent Behringer models by a mile and are even slightly better than the Yamaha P series. The sound is very open and clean with very good stereo image for a PA amplifier. In a multi speaker set up with 2xGX3 1xGX5 driving two mains, two fills and two subs I didn't have any problems setting up and noticed no phase issues that appeared amplifier related i.e that couldn't be accounted for by position and acoustics. You can drive these pretty hard and they stay quite linear up to high levels and distort in a tolerable way as you approach the limit of their ability. Many amps I've used in this price range are not so forgiving and run out of steam very sharply. I will be buying more of these in the future.

R
QSC quality at a great price
Robert582 15.05.2013
This was used for an install of an A/V system in a school. The systems main speakers needed to be ultra reliable and having used higher spec QSC amps in the past I was extremely happy to find one at this price. The performance (although not quite up there with pro models) was amazing. It was far cleaner and had a more open sound when compared to other models in its price band. Even though it has a relatively low output it maintained a good amount of clean headroom (even when driven fairly hard) and kept a fairly linear tonality. I would definitely use and spec this range of amps again.

A
Great amp for small systems
Anonymous 01.09.2016
I use this as a high amp in a 3 way system but it would be plenty of power for a small full range system for house parties and small gigs. Sound quality and power is excellent as you would expect from QSC. i compared this amp to the Behringer iNuke 3000 which claims twice the power and this amp went louder before clipping. Worth the extra money. Only down side is it is very heavy compared to the class d amplifiers but is still fairly compact and fits into an effects rack. Overall I'm very happy with this purchase.
