  • Built-in Two Notes Reactive Load & Virtual Cabinets - 6 customisable virtual cabinets selectable via the front rotary knob or up to 128 via MIDI - direct connection for FOH / mixer, interface or headphones without box
  • In Reactive Load Direct Mode, Pre & Post-Switch selects whether the power amplifier is in the signal chain
  • Reactive Load is automatically activated when the speaker is not recognised to protect the amplifier

Seems like I am the first one user here, at Thomann :)

During the whole of my music career, I played mostly with modular processors, like Line 6 HD500X. I'd say, that it's pretty decent and easy to use stuff, especially when you are touring guy. But when we speaking about recording - using floor processors is not a great idea. Some high end digital harsh, lacking natural response made me start to look for something new, some gear, which helps me within my home studio and during touring as well. And now Revv G20 story begins. My main requirement was to have small watt amp, small size device, with crystal "clean" sound and aggressive "overdrive", for covering all my basic needs. What I like about Revv G20, that it includes everything and more. "Aggression" switch really change rules, and makes the sound very different, which is very useful, if you have some differences between lead sound and rhythm sound. Additionally, embedded Torpedo Load(probably captor X) helps you to be in peace with your neighbors and easily practice at home. Probably the main cons are that you have to look for some complex midi-switch to control this beast.

Ok, but not great.

The clean channel is overdriven and more like a crunch channel. It does not have a gain control. The gain control does nothing when the clean channel is selected. This makes the clean channel completely useless.

The overdriven channels give a modern tone but are far far away from what I'd call "high" gain. And the american "scooped" death metal tone is not possible to achieve with the EQ that it is equipped with.
However, with a distortion pedal in the FX loop of the clean channel I'm happy. But that makes the tubes a bit obsolete....

The build quality is very solid and the features are great for recording in a home studio.

Perfect High Gain Amp

I use this amp for couple of weeks as main practice amp with headphones. Sound is very good, clean sound is just amazing. Gain channel provide wide range of gain. Mainly i play modern metal and it's fit perfectly for this. Cabsim also provide several nice presets and I don't have any problems with this feature.
Definitely i recommend this amplifier

Pros:
-Sound quality is amazing
-Easy to handle
-two notes IR
-Midi in
-protective circuit to use with no cab
Cons:
-output level knob should be bigger and with locking mechanism.
- there is no between clean and hi gain channel
