Hi-fi headphone amplifier for audiophiles

Based on the ADI-2 Pro, the RME ADI-2 DAC FS is a high-end DA converter and headphone amplifier optimised for audiophile hi-fi users. It offers an improved SteadyClock, two extremely high-quality headphone outputs, excellent noise and distortion values, and numerous functions that can be controlled comfortably from the listening position using the new MCR remote control. For maximum convenience, the remote has four programmable buttons that give access to 32 different functions. In addition to the remote control, a power supply unit and a USB cable are included in the scope of delivery.

Flexibility through practical technologies

The ADI-2 DAC FS ensures extremely high-quality DA conversion from USB, S/PDIF coaxial, and S/PDIF optical to balanced and unbalanced analogue outputs. In addition to two RCA and XLR outputs on the rear, an Extreme Power and a low-noise IEM headphone output are located on the front. Furthermore, the RME converter features SteadyClock FS, DSP-based signal processing, sample rates of up to 768kHz, and class-compliant USB compatibility. Last but not least, DSD and Direct DSD playback are possible - and S/PDIF input signals can even be recorded via USB.

Optimum interface between the digital and analogue worlds

RME's ADI-2 DAC FS is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, which makes it exactly the right choice for those who are looking for maximum sound quality. In a convenient desktop-format housing, this converter aims to provide high-quality DA conversion combined with two exceptional headphone outputs. Its transparent, reference-level sound and DSP-based signal processing make it the optimum interface between the digital and analogue worlds. As a dedicated feature for hi-fi users, RME has equipped the ADI-2 DAC FS with an Auto Dark function. This switches off the illumination of all controls including the LC display ten seconds after the last input.

About RME

RME is a brand of Audio AG based in Haimhausen near Munich, Germany. It enjoys a worldwide reputation and is especially known for offering support for all users of any platform thanks to cross-platform connectivity between Windows and Mac OS via various interface formats. An extensive repertoire of audio interfaces, converters and microphone preamps, all based on innovative and extremely powerful core technologies, offer optimum performance to all RME users. This explains why RME's devices are used in a wide range of applications all over the world. From recording studios and theatres to broadcasting companies and scientific institutions, many users rely on the quality of RME products.

Enjoyable listening without background noise

IEM (in-ear monitors) are considered sensitive and operate at very low voltages. A resulting disadvantage is that they can make the background noise of playback devices, headphone amplifiers, and DAC audible. For this reason, RME has made sure that the Extreme Power headphone output has a very low noise floor. To allow even the most sensitive in-ear monitors a full dynamic range, RME has added a special IEM output, whose noise floor is another 10dB lower than that of its 6.3mm jack counterpart. So if you use the ADI-2 DAC FS purely as a headphone amplifier, you will be thrilled.
