Its RME, so of course it is extremely good in any way.

I use this to connect an Avid S3L to PC over AVB. In this way I use the S3L as a front end to Pro Tools and other DAWs. It just works. Superlow latency. No problems what so ever. 128 channels to/from PC, connected to the PC on USB.

Wir brauchten dringend einen Ersatz für einen unserer gestorbenen Prism Wandler. Schnell war der RME M32AD pro ausgewählt (übrigens ein tolles Gerät). Da es immer wieder Erfahrungsberichte gibt, dass AVB auf dem Mac doch nicht sooo toll läuft, haben wir gleich das Digiface AVB mitbestellt, da wir mitten in einer Produktion waren und es einfach funktionieren musste. Tatsächlich geht AVB seit Mac OS 10.14.3 wieder sehr gut. Wobei es bei uns einmal die Situation gab, dass wir Wandler und Rechner mehrfach booten mussten, bis sie sich wieder gefunden haben....
Nun aber zum Digiface AVB: Beim erstmaligen Anschließen muss man erst mal den "neuen Netzadapter" im Bereich Network in System Preferences "freischalten". Danach startet dann, sobald das Gerät angeschlossen ist, der AVB Controller. Dabei bleibt die Webremote komplett erreichbar über Zeroconf (oder Apple Terminologie Bonjour) . Die Einstellungen des M32AD pro (ich denke auch andere AVB devices) lassen sich bequem direkt in der AVB Controller app einstellen ... und: Totalmix ist verfügbar!! Wie geil ist das denn :-)
Hier hat man wirklich das erste mal die Möglichkeit mehrere Devices in einem!!! Mixer zu steuern ---> Klasse! Alleine das ist Gold wert.
Jetzt zu den (aus meiner Sicht) einzigen Mankos: Es wäre wirklich cool gewesen, wenn das Teil dann auch gleich ein Switch wäre, oder zumindest einen zweiten Ethernet Port bereitstellen würde. Klasse wäre es auch, wenn das Teil so viel DSP Power hätte, dass man wenigsten EQ in Totalmix hätte. (Dann könnte man in komplexen Studioanwendungen Lautsprecherentzerrung gleich hier durchführen, oder das Ding auch Live nutzen...)
Letzter Punkt ist keine echte Kritik eher eine Anmerkung: Warum hat das Gerät keinen Thunderbolt Konnektor? Bei so vielen Kanälen, hoher Samplerate und niedriger Latenz wäre das doch die richtige Wahl, oder?
--> In Summe ein phantastisches Gerät. Ich hoffe, dass demnächst mehr hochwertige AVB Geräte auf den Markt kommen.
