A little more work for the R&D department
Lechum, 01.10.2020
For some reason, I had real problems inserting the 1/4 inch jack sockets into the back of the patchbay; I really had to use a lot of force and push them very hard. I did think that perhaps that the unit had been damaged before I got it, but eventually they went in. I hope they will come out easily if required!
The two holes for mounting to the Rockboard are in such a position as to make it very difficult to get the bolts on to the nut. The holes are too close to the main housing, as well as the brackets on the underside of the Pedalboard and took me a number of attempts to connect the bolt with the nut. To do this, I had to use a pair of pliers to hold the bolt on the inside of the 'board, whilst using the supplied Allen key on the outside - otherwise I couldn't tighten them sufficiently. Perhaps the manufacturer should alter the method of attachment so that self-tapping screws are used instead.
Apart from that, it does what it says on the box. You may want to read my review of the Pedalboard TRES 3.2 + gigbag (Thomann item no.478619) that I got at the same time with respect to the fitting of a power pack to the underside.
Whilst contacting them about the 'board, they told me that ALL of the 1/4 inch jack connections are STEREO, so you can route your two channel amp footswitch through this item, thus making the 'board even more user friendly.

Great extension for my board
Thomias, 26.10.2020
I have this unit on my Rockboard 4.2. I am very happy with it and if you own a rockboard that has the space for it, don't hesitate.

PROS
- it is a perfect fit for the cut-out
- works as advertised

CONS (no real put-offs)
- the nuts on the bolts are very small. It is a hassle to install them.
- If you have 'rockboard the tray' and a 4.2 pedalboard like me you cannot install the the tray in the middle at the top of the board. The space on the left or right side of the board is to small to install the tray. The space in the middle on the bottom of the board was to low to fit my power supply. I had to fit my power supply on the right top without tray. I installed the tray in the bottom middle to put the buzz killer and buffer on

Super useful!
Guitarghiro, 03.02.2020
I was looking for some power and I/O signal components to install in my self made pedal board when I saw this all-in-one patchbay on Thomann website that provides all the connections I needed in a single unit.
Even though Thomann sells different models of this Rockboard patchbay I chose this because I was looking for four jack connections (two for guitar imput/output and two for send/return, while I use the fifth provided for the footswitch of the amp). At the moment I'm not using the XLR input but this was the unit best fitted my necessities.
The only thing is that this patchbay is intended to be installed only on Rockboard pedal boards because of the screws given in dotation but if you don't lack in manuality this won't be a problem. Overall I'm very happy, now my pedal board is absolutely tidy and fast to set in every gig! Hope this review can help you.

Good Idea. Not up to scratch
benb33, 21.08.2018
Quick conclusion, good idea but it is not usable without sacrificing your tone.
In detail; I got my Tres 3.1 and Mod 1 last week and spent the weekend setting it up. The mod 1 struck me as a great idea to neaten up all the cabling (in, out, power supply and TRS cable for amp foot-switch)
Firstly - installation; comes with screws, recommending a drill for installation. However the mounting holes are in the thin aluminium and there is little to screw into, I ended up buying washers and nuts to mount and keep it secure.
Secondly, and more importantly, the connections affect my tone. When played through the Mod 1 tone is duller and has a high end roll off (but not in any desirable way). It just sounds muffled, I hoped it was just me being picky but even my girlfriend noticed an immediate difference. Doesn't matter which input/output I use, it just makes it unusable.
Also the connections on both sides don't feel quality.
I've asked Warwick directly about it, I'm unsure what to do.. whether to try and get a tech to mod it or scrap it completely.
