LOVE IT
This is an amazing little analogue synth. Minus is small format, but a big big plus is the sound which is unbelievably good.

What Id been missing all these years
When my SE-1 started having issues after 25 years, I decided I should treat myself to the SE-02 whilst the other was away being cared for. Id always loved the organic SE-1 but the envelopes were never snappy like I'd imagined a mini-moog would be so I used it differently and loved it for its strengths. The SE-02 has the same thick full sound but is punchy and tight in a way the SE-1 never was. This is a really chunky synth and exactly what Id been missing in my studio. Weirdly this made all my other synths come alive as each one was now free to be what it was best at and the SE-02 could fill the gap between them. This has got rid of my Gear Aquisition Syndrome ..... mostly....!

Amazing machine
The SE-02 is simply amazing. Studio Electronics and Roland have engineered a serious piece of quality with this boutique. The sounds are simply class and the usability of the machine affords endless enjoyment. Every time I switch it on I get the same feeling of excitement about what the possibilities it gives me. It’s jam packed with effects, filters and when plugged into the K-25M keyboard it just oozes class. Couldn’t recommend this unit more.

Small beast
Don't let the size of this unit fool you: this is a beast of a synth with an analog heart and a digital mind. The knobs and switches are quite small and that might not be ideal for tweaking sounds and performing live but, on the other hand, it weighs next to nothing and is very easy to throw in a backpack and stroll around. The usb digital audio interface is also quite handy if you need to do multitracking in a daw. All in all, this is a no-brainer for its price that I come back to time and again for inspiration.

So small but so fat and cheassy..
TL;DR: Absolutely worth it, small monster with true analog soul!
Use: To create fat baselines, pitchy leads, plunks and drones.
Pros:
- Analog fattinessss
- Easy of use: sequencer, pads/buttons and system (read manual first)
- Very good and essential manual
- Awesome quality of gear with details
- Outstanding quality of sound/effects
- Easy to learn, hard to master
- Irreplaceable in my live setup (due to baselines and leads)
- Pure fun to use (its analog man.. :D)
Cons:
- Small knobs (even if You have small hands)
- Can heat small room in winter days while hard use. (Pros?)

Little Gem
This synth is small but powerful. True analog, sounds are of high quality. Only draw back is the size of the knobs, far to small.

The best sounding product from Roland Boutique Designer Series. It's also cheap.

great small unit
Sounds nice when connected to external speakers.
Knobs are really tiny but fit well and whole unit feels very well made.
I recommend to buy separately also accompanying preset editor/vstplugin which will give you the database of unit presets so one can see how to set the knobs to get particular sound and also give you the possibility to alter parameters using DAW's automation ...
