Schecter Solo-II Blackjack BLK

En general es una guitarra de la cual obtuve lo que esperaba. Buenos acabados, bueno sonido, buenos afinadores, increíble sonido de las pastillas tanto en tono como en su push pull...

Ninguna pega hasta que vi otro comentario de la guitarra en la cual se la castigaba por un fallo de fábrica con respecto a la falta de un tornillo en la pastilla de puente y lo cual provocaba que tocara con las cuerdas o algo por el estilo. Otra de las pegas que comentaba esta persona es que la configuración de volumen de las pastillas en los botones estaba a la inversa. Es decir, potenciómetro superior para la pastilla de puente y potenciómetro trasero para pastilla de mástil. Si bien es cierto que es algo contrario a lo común y posiblemente poco intuitivo, en lo particular no me ha supuesto ningún problema pues al final siempre tiendo a tocar con la pastilla de puente a no ser que vaya a grabar algo especifico con un tono mas grave. Para las personas que se manejen mucho entre pastillas o diferentes guitarras a la hora de tocar por ejemplo en directo si que entiendo que pueda ser bastante molesto.
También se señalaba la falta de etiquetado, manual o documentación... Sinceramente no es algo ni si quiera en lo que me fijara al abrirla aunque entiendo que para los mas puritanos o gustosos de las guitarras es algo que por el precio debería de estar. Quizás imagino que esto se debe a tratar de ahorrar todo lo posible en costes pues si nos vamos a otras marcas con las mismas prestaciones como la típica Gibson, no veo desorbitado el pensar que su precio rondara el doble que de esta.

En general, la mejor inversión en guitarra que podría haber hecho.
Una lástima que otros hayan tenido fallos de fábrica pero bueno imagino que como en cualquier producto es algo a lo que como compradores siempre nos arriesgamos.

This guitar is awesome in every sense: looks, feel, sound, quality, materials, playability, design… everything about this instrument oozes WARMTH. The neck is super-fast and very confortable. The position of the knobs well-thought. The Lundgren pickups offer clear, crisp and powerful tones….. BUTTTTTTT:

(1) my guitar came with a loose bridge pick-up, a faulty screw/spring fixture to the body, causing the neck pick-up to constantly rise and make physical contact with the high e-string. I wrote to Schecter Tech support but their solution was “put some epoxy in the screw hole and that should fix it”. VERY DISAPPOINTED with this kind of response for a BRAND NEW instrument of this build quality. I ended up having to take it to a luthier and spending an additional 50€ on an already expensive instrument, supposedly under warranty. Had I bought this at a physical store, I would have returned it on the spot.

(2) Schecter wires their volume knobs “in reverse” physical location - the “front” knob controls the bridge pick-up and the “back” knob controls the neck pick-up. My luthier tells me this is because Schecter players are mostly metal/hard rock and use the bridge pick-up more, and the “front” knob has an easier access while playing. Fine, but it’s completely NOT intuitive. I ended up rewiring this to be more “logical”.

(3) I was in general VERY disappointed with the Tech Support and information available from Schecter for this guitar. No setup guide, no configurarion guide, no schematics, no manual…. NOTHING. And no documentation with the guitar- NONE. Very poor compared to other brands. It would serve Schecter Well to get their act together in this sense. Great instruments will only get you so far.

So, in summary: over the moon about the guitar; disappointed about faulty factor y setup and spending extra money to fix it, and disappointed about lack of documentation and tech support.
