(better than the real thing)

OK, it's not a mock-up, and it's THE real realthing, the real McCoy.
It's just that it's so good, that you end up wondering why bother with these silly preppy-boy vintage case in exotic imitation leather, for those glorious 30 seconds when you walk on stage at the stinkiest local pub, when for the rest of the travel your beloved bass has been in peril because drummers won't load the van as mama would want them to.

Weight? Featherlight.
Protective? You won't bend this, even on your knees in a moment of fury.
And no, not even your girlfriend will succeed in hurting the neck of your instrument sheathed in this, like when you tell her that you have to cancel your holiday with her just to drive the van of the rockband you always wanted to play in, but they only need a driver, not a bass player, and you're gonna take the bass with you anyway, c'mon, what harm will it make (well, to the band's bassist, it will, but that's another story), for a welcome change off the steering wheel.

Precision? Check. Cort A6, long scale, 6-string? Check. Warwick Corvette 4-string? Check (with some more than ample play). Spector 5-string 35"? Check.
Better than a hard one, if you want my word for it.

Too bad, I can't stand the carrying straps à la backpack, 'cause I always have a backpack already (with effects inside). It shall come with a shoulder strap, really, like all others. No one does, pity, nor does this one. Which is great for you, probably, but not that much for me. Just a detail, though: the case is as clever as you can think of one.

Keeps bass safe but watch the stitching

Good and sturdy. Had it for nearly a year now and it's been a life saver. It'll definitely keep your bass safe from nasty wallops. A great midpoint with the convenience of a soft bag and the protection of a hard case.

Just watch how you pick it up from the straps and handles.
When it's got a heavy bass and other gadgets in it, the weight is a bit much for single strap or handle, so be sure to use both of either to spread the weight out. It's good practice to do that anyway so there's less wear and tear but it's something to keep in mind before you accidentally ruin your new case.
Again, otherwise a great case.

Meh

After a little over a year of limited use this case is falling apart. Its awkward to carry over the shoulder on on the back. And now, the handle between the shoulder straps has pulled free. Being that its an SKB product I'm a bit surprised and obviously disappointed in the performance of this product. Oh well, I'm off to buy an M80 Mono Vertigo case.

Very good Soft Case. I bought it for a friend and realized that I should have taken it for myself instead of the cheap Fender Gig Bag.
It's very light, looks great, and has plenty of pockets for everything you need besides a bass.
Great product.
