I was looking for a Yamaha sub kick then found they were discontinued available mostly on used market if you could find one? I checked reviews
on the Solomon and jumped in and purchased.Absolutley love this mic,it offers all the sub low end I'd need,i pair it with the Shure Beta 52A,dynamite combo!! Many compliments from the engineers and producers I've worked with.

Major bang for the buck when recording kick drums
Gajdzin 01.12.2017
OK, so you could build one yourself from that old guitar amp speaker, but believe me, it won't work and look as good as this one, and the price is so affordable comparing with some popular competition of the same type. Records GREAT, I have some much, much more expensive mics for kick drum tracking, and yet I always end up using at least a bit of low end from this one on mixdown.

When recording kick drums, cajon or bass it's a mic I always use. Very round and and defined bass frequencies. I even used it when recording a bass flute and made a difference in the mix when combined with the large membrane condenser microphone I also used. With cajon it makes wonders!!

Finally an affordable quality sub-kick
FilipH 16.06.2016
You don't have to look any further, this one does the job perfectly, and has a functional and sturdy design. Sound quality is on par with the Yamaha sub-kick, if not better in certain beefy ways.
