Right out of the box this snare is all quality:
- full and loud sound with great response, flawlessly made!
- really like the dual glide system, the way it comes off makes changing side head easy and painless, and dual side wire adjustment is always a plus
- very easy to tune and holds up at lower tunings, but really takes off when tuned medium to high!
- beats a thin shell titanium any day of the week, except on the really low tunings, totally worth it!

Diese Snare ist ein Schwergewicht. Sowohl vom Preis, als auch vom tatsächlichen Gewicht (ca. 10 Kilogramm).

Ein "Schwergewicht" im positiven Sinn, ist die Snare aber vom Klang. Ich habe bisher nichts Besseres gespielt und gehört. Aus meiner Sicht ist die Sonor AS 12 1406 BRB Artist Snare, die derzeit beste 14" Snaredrum am Markt.

Pianissimo hat die Trommel eine sehr sensible Ansprache. Sie ist auch mit Jazzbesen herrlich zu spielen und sie entwickelt, gute Stimmung vorausgesetzt, einen schönen und satten Klang. Mit Sticks kann man mit dieser Snare ein ordentliches Fortissimo entwickeln, ohne dass der perfekte Klang auf der Stecke bleibt.

Wer sich den Preis und das Gewicht antun will, erhält ein wunderbares Instrument und ein echtes Sammlerstück!

Es erstaunt mich immer wieder, dass SONOR diesem Prachtstück kein Hardcase spendiert. Die Trommel wird gut geschützt, in einer ordinären Pappschachtel geliefert...
