cubase 11 element review
erim kaska, 13.09.2021
I've been using Cubase ProTools all the software you can think over the years and I can say the Cubase element is one of the best previously I had cubase five essentials but let me tell you something also I had cubase for which was the pro version and obviously that was good the reason is because it's Mac and PC compatible also cubase SX four was one of the best software you could get I also have Cubase essential five the reason I'm writing this review is so I can tell people the positive and the negative of this piece of software let's start with the positive positive I like this first of all cubase five essentials basically has 2 GB of content where cubase11 essentials has 25 GB of content second of all you get more affects you get more sounds you get instead of halion one you get halionsonic se also you get groove agent 5SE which is one of the best drum software you can get with the mind of programming I like the fact that cubase has 47 affects and then cubase has not only 47 affects but 1000 sounds also you get more track features such as cord mode and you also get a few more additional many options that cubase SX four did not have and Cubase five essentials did not have those include the VST three support which I'm very happy to use another reason why I bought the software what is that I was on the budget and obviously to cubass pro 11 was out of my budget so that's why I decided to buy this software I can easily upgrade this if I want to but for now this is what I'm going to be using like I said also I use Logic Pro X but because I'm getting a new computer I do not know if I'm getting a PC or a Mac because I will be upgrading my 4K iMac to a new computer and one note is that if you are going to be using the software you need at least 16 GB of RAM or 32 GB of RAM 8 GB is going to slow your computer down so hopefully my new computer will get me that capability and also another thing is a faster processor you do not want to go for for core processor although you can get away with a 4 core processor a 6 core or an 8 core processor or even more core would be better it's good the only downside is that the m1 chips are not supported for Mac so if you are planning on buying an iMac 24 inch please wait until it's supported otherwise you'll have to use Rosetta and it is a big headache now to the negative side of this software first of all cubase five essentials gave you 64 audio tracks and 128 midi tracks this gives you 48 audio tracks and 64 midi tracks which is really really bad for today's standards but cubase is a good software and Steinberg should be ashamed of themselves because of what they're doing at least 64 audio tracks will be better than 48 audio tracks at least 128 midi tracks would be good instead of 64 hopefully we get this with an update overall I'm happy that I have this software and I can use my other programs with this for my mixing needs and then I can post some videos on YouTube to show you so hopefully once I'm finishing downloading and activating this software I can do some great mixes especially country music rock music jazz music those are my three main categories that I like to do anything that acoustic that uses instruments all of that is in my box no dance music no EDM no hip-hop no trans none of that stuff only acoustic stuff orchestral music rock music pop rock music metal music country music jazz music acoustic instruments that we use today and I would highly recommend this software to anybody who is doing just that and another thing is that the shipping was good and I got the software today so thank you very much for sending the software fast and it was good working with you guys and hopefully I will buy more products from you guys in the near future

Does the job
Nick Monke, 18.05.2021
Using Cubase from C6, I just stick to this. Ones known it is easy to stay on the same platform.
Just a bit different from my 8 version and I am not that fond of the color scheme (dark)
I am thinking upgrading to the artist version because of the comping facility that the Elements version lacks.
But if you want a good DAW for home use, this is it (make sure your pc is up to date)

pro very clear way of working. Great support from Steinberg very nice price setting

con not that happy with the color setting. Found I had to upgrade my pc to be able to 'stay with it' as you need to at least up-to-date hardware and W10 to run this program (I personally hate this, perfect machinery is simply outdated and pushes the consumer to spent) So I keep running C8 for now as it works better on my machine.

A lighter version of this robust DAW, for those who don't use all the power of full extended Cubase anyway. You can check the full comparison table on see all the differences between the versions.

One thing surprised me though. The box they send is cute, that is true, however, it's a little weird (in 2020) that you must wait several days for a box where you only find the activation key printed on the paper. I mean, it's just strange, nothing that would kill me - to wait a little longer before I can use the code that could be sent to me in a matter of seconds.

Beware - 64-bit!
reincheque, 06.10.2019
I have recently bought this product, having been a user of Cubase Essential 5 for almost 10 years. At first glance, this seems to be very decent update of CE5. Most things are where you'd expect to find them, other things aren't, so that will take sometime to get used to.

What I didn't realise is the CE10 only comes in 64-bit format. All my favourite VST plugins are 32-bit, which means that CE10 won't use them. So, now I have to (a) download new 64-bit plugins (which could be an adventure!) and (b) keep using CE5 if I want to use my old plugins. Bit of a bummer (maybe I should have just saved my money and not bought CE10?), and I hope that Windows updates will continue to support CE5 (big hope there).

So be warned, in a friendly way...;-).
