String Swing CC01K Guitar Wall Hanger ASH

I got several of those as I thought, it's the best wall hanger. Made in US, highly reputable, etc.

When I took the first out of the box, I was surprised, the hanging surface was covered in sticky plastic that peels off. I rub my finger and it's now covered in plastic that seems to be cleanable, but nevertheless. I didn't try this hanger my instruments with beautiful unfinished necks and decided to try a laquer-finished neck first. Yeah, it hangs, but when I take the guitar off, I need to clean it, as it takes the dissolving plastic from the hanger.

I decided not to risk my instruments and didn't install those hangers.

Another thing a buyer needs to be aware of that the hook is really narrow, so you need to be very careful while hanging an instrument. When I'm dropping the instrument without looking much (like I do on Gator or K&M), this doesn't work and I hit the hook with the neck, as the hook is much narrower. It's barely enough to tightly fit my 6-string guitar with a 43mm nut, a wider neck on an extended range bass might be a total no-go.

-sollte ausserdem Nitro Lack beschichtete Gitarren nicht angreifen
-die String Swing sehen gut aus, haben angeblich ein Gummi, das Nitro nicht angreift
-Verarbeitung schön, sieht deutlich besser als der Standard aus.
-Hat doch einige Teile, insbesondere der O Ring ist wohl kein Langzeit Teil, das bleibt abzuwarten. Soll wohl die Torsion der Gabel ermöglichen. Hier wäre ein Kunststoff Ring aus Nylon besser gewesen. kein Verschleiss.
-Schwäche ist die Verschraubung der Gabel, hier dreht man, falls die Wand "schön" ist, ohne es zu wissen die Halte Schraube der Gabel durch das Holzstück eventuell zu weit und die bohrt sich dann etwas in die Wand. Unschön, wenn das Ding jemals wieder abmontiert würde.
-das mit dem ungewollten durchschauben stört mich, deswegen ein Punkt Abzug. Statt dem Kunststoff Distanz Stück hätte man ein massives Holzstück nehmen können mit einer Präzisonsbohrung, ist wohl bei der Herstellung zu teuer. Wäre aber "etwas schicker und noch Umwelt schonender , haha....."
-Verpackung etwas zu viel Kunststoff, Teile fallen einem entgegen nach dem Öffnen. Schachtel hätte doch gereicht. Aus Pappe natürlich.

I heard these had switched to plastic mounting screws, and decided to give them a try. That turned out to be a mistake - I almost lost two guitars over it. I have a cement/plaster wall - the plastic mounting screws aren't strong enough to screw themselves into the wall, and when drilling first do a seemingly good job of staying in but in less than 30 days fell out. If the mounting screws were metal I think they would have worked out amazingly. But, String Swing decided to save some money and made the product worse. Would consider buying them again if they switched to a better mounting mechanism, but until then unless you have drywall, stay away from these at all costs.
