A good mallet for a crisp sound
This mallet is very well made, robust and pleasant for the player. It gives a sense of security as it will not easily slip through your fingers.
The varnished wooden heads elicit tones that have a clear metallic resonance: you see the bar in your mind's eye when you hear the tone. I would recommend it for pieces where a certain harshness is expected, for instance marches, or when there is an intention to clearly distinguish the various tone colours and create a crisp contrast between the glockenspiel and other instruments. It is not adapted for reverie or... lullabies.
