Great for Keys
Robert8837, 22.03.2017
Easy to program and tracks MIDI very well. I owned the HArmony-M prior to this and the algorhyth,s seem to be a little beeter. and sound better.

Sound aid for singing with a need for attention
TommyGuitar, 24.10.2018
I think the concept of the device and its form factor is great and I already have many years of experience with a TC Voiceworks. That's why I bought the device. Since I play keyboard and guitar, the -VK version of the connection options compared to the -GK and -V version was the most sensible option for me.

What do I need the device for?
I use the device to achieve a good vocal sound with effects with direct access to the stage and to produce subtle harmony voices on different parts. In particular, I find it interesting to "play" the device via MIDI via keyboard with purely synthetic voices.

How do I connect it?
For me, the device hangs at the end of the signal chain. It gets the mix of keyboard, ipad and guitar. The keyboard is also connected via MIDI. Behind the VK sits a Looper, so that I can possibly loop the vocals as well. I do not use aux input and headphone output in my setup.

How does the device sound?
The sound of Reverb and Echo is as good quality and for my needs, the algorithms are well-chosen among the possible variety. The Harmonizer has good and fast tracking and is good for discreet use up to the main vocal almost identical use. If the synthesized voices are louder than the real vocals, then the direction is electronic sound. This sounds very electronic, especially when using the MIDI control - so it is more modern over. For me a real asset. If you have the UK once in the signal chain, you do not want to turn it off. It improves the sound in a pleasant way.

Operating concept pro & contra:
Since I already read the operating instructions online before the purchase, understood the operating concept and this led to the purchase decision, I was prepared while testing the device. The idea of ??"turning knob operation" in combination with the buttons for harmony, reverb and echo I find quite successful and practical for fast sound adaptation in live operation. Three memory slots for base sounds are also sufficient for my application. Unfortunately, the device always remembers exactly the last current setting in each memory location. So if I change something - for example, adapt live - it will be saved automatically. You should know alos of its basic sounds to get everything back to starting position after the performance. For me that's okay, because I have a lot of live rumfummel on the devices anyway. I can imagine, however, that this analogue feeling annoys some people quite nicely.
The idea with the automatic Gain setting I liked the concept but in my practice did not work and annoyed me and the soundman. I therefore prefer to adjust the gain manually to have the relationship song to instruments under control and do not use the automatic setting - the manual setting worked on my device but only after the firmware update.
The Talk switch for effects switch off and mute is awesome, just like the anti-feedback function. Automatic voicing is a matter of taste.

Connectivity & Software:
Without an update, I could not use the device properly. That is synonymous in the Bedienunsganleitung. I did not believe it and tried it anyway. Here you should heed the advice of the manual and immediately update. The driver works fine under Win10. The software for updating and backups did not work for me on three out of four computers. This is probably due to the complex MIDI configuration of my PC and the old operating system version 10.6.8 of my Mac. On a Windows PC without a special audio / MIDI musician configuration, she immediately ran and put the device into working condition. Frankly, I expect a bit more software-based product maintenance - especially I did not expect this failure with a TC device. After that, everything went as described. Audio in / out with the DAW (Reaper) works.
With the mobile phone via an app to upload a preset via mobile phone speakers I find unprofessional, if I have anyway installed a backup software for sounds on the computer and can comfortably regulate there. I will not use this feature baw.

Hardware:
The device makes a solid impression. The connection cable from the power supply is comparatively short. If you mount the device a little higher on the microphone stand, the socket must already be placed close to the tripod. If the device is fixed on a base (eg keyboard) and you use all connections, the device becomes heavy-duty and tilts slightly backwards.

Conclusion:
Very good sound. Fair price. High fun factor. Successful form factor. Habituation needy user interface. Not all functions can be used without firmware update. Additional sounds can only be loaded via mobile app and smartphone.
