Great for vocalists
Tomasz Stobierski, 08.05.2019
First, this box can make great sounding harmonies in many ways. Second - it will help you sound better as far as your voice is concerned. I bought it especially with harmonizing via MIDI in mind, because I don't trust that much "natural play" automation. It fits most the time, but when you'd like to harmonize the voice a bit custom way - MIDI control is the only way. This variant of Voicelive series has limited guitar processing capabilities (missing a bit of delay), but does the basic guitar job OK. We can control harmony various ways - via built-in microphones, guitar input chord recognition, MIDI.

I believe when you're vocalist - it's the best choice for the price (it's almost half price of VL3). Keep in mind, that you can mount it on the mic stand in the front of you so that you can change parameters with your fingers as you sing. Or use additional microphone from TC Helicon to control harmony and presets used. It's important, because otherwise, particularily when you try to play the instrument (in my case the piano), you have limited option to switch parameters quick and handy way. So - when having free hands as you perform - it's quite great, but playing the instrument AND controlling it - you'll probably need to buy TC foot switch (3/6) which adds to the cost of this device. That's why when I summed up Voicelive Touch2 + Switch price I said to myself - OK, let's buy Voicelive3 extreme adding 150 euros on the top of Voicelive Touch2+external footswitch. For singers that would like to only sing, MIDI gives you option to perform harmonies you exactly want - just play them on MIDI keyboard. I also use DAW to back harmonies via MIDI when I sing along background music (also from DAW).

Voicelife Touch2 looks crafted quite solid, I mean solid materials and details which don't make an impression "it can break any moment right in the middle of your show" or during transport. My only complain is that input/output sockets are quite hard to be used with common cables as soon as you try to mount it on the mic stand - there is small room sockets and the back of device and you'll have hard time plugging it. It's not deal breaker, but you need cables with quite short plugs or maybe L shaped plugs.

So - as you can see - buying VL3 right after buying VL Touch2 means "I'm very satisfied with what it can do". To be clear - don't expect it can make you a star - you still need to sing decent:), but you don't need to worry that much about the perfect tuning as VL can forgive some small imprecission in vocal performance.
