the t.bone HD 1800

I haven’t tried too many models of DJ headphones, but my first real headphones were the Sony MDR-V 700DJ back in 2002.
I have been using them for 10 years and I was very pleased. After that I switched to Denon DN-HP1000 headphones in 2012. which were even better, I also used them for 10 years and was even more satisfied. This year I decided to treat myself to new headphones. Given the relatively low price, I decided to take a risk and try The t.bone HD 1800 headphones.
The first thing I have to say is that they are fantastically packaged, as an item that costs 5x more. The first impression on the touch was great when I put them on my ears and listened, it was even better. I couldn’t believe that headphones of that price range could sound so superb.
Deep and soft bass, medium and high sound great, noise protection also at a high level. At first I can immediately say that they are better than all the old headphones I had, both in terms of build quality and sound. They are loud enough, adapt quickly to the shape of the head and are very comfortable to wear, they are light enough and look solid.
If they were twice as expensive, I would definitely buy them again without thinking.

The only complaint is that there is no stretchable cable, but the good thing is that you get 2 pieces, one of 1.2m and one of 4m. For my needs, a shorter cable is quite sufficient.

Ok, so these are first impressions, I've not had them long enough for a real comfort test yet.

So, the t.bone HD 1800 headphones have actually seriously surprised me. Right from the get go, the experience has been a good one. The unboxing experience was nice as the headphones where well packaged in a very nice case and there were even some other goodies to discover. The first thing that made me actually go wow was the 4m mini jack extension cable. Now, both the extension cable and the one actually connected to the headphones both look like very good quality cable that should last well with rugged use. But what really made me happy was the addition of a little clip on the extension cable that will securely connect both cables and reduce the chance of accidental disconnection. Such a small thing, but something everyone forgets about. Great foresight here.

The next thing is sound quality. I actually bought these for stage monitoring as I do not like in ear monitors. These headphones sound very good to my ears, clear across the range and loud too. I wouldn't try to do a mix on them, but for what I need them for, they should do the trick very nicely indeed.

Comfort and build quality seem pretty good. I've had them on for a little while and they feel comfortable to wear. I'm not feeling particularly fatigued by them yet, but time will tell on that point. The fit is nice and tight, I've done a bit of headbanging whilst listening to some heavy metal/hard rock tracks and they've barely moved! The plastic is of nice quality and should hold up to some hard work. The rotation of the ear cups is nice, though, and this could be my only slight complaint, it would've been nice to be able to click them into the down position. Other than that, they look very good too, so yeah, a fantastic pair of headphones, especially for the price!

TL:DR If you need headphones on a budget, these ones should do the job very nicely!

Quick feedback to say these are incredible. Headphones that cost this little have no business sounding this good. They're very comfortable, the cable is really high quality too and feels like its going to last a long time. The swivel on the ear cups is a nice touch with a little locking switch too, nice design. The most important thing is the sound though, honestly these sound like they should have an extra zero on the price. I've many sets of high end headphones and have been doing some side by side comparisons. I really cant fault these. Lovely full range sound without adding tons of unnecessary colour to the sound. I'd happily wear these for mix or tracking sessions. All I can say is they're very highly recommended by somebody who has a lot of experience with headphones. If they cost 400 instead of 40 Id still recommended them. They really are that good.
