Beautiful instrument and exceptional value
I have recently purchased the Thomann Standard ukulele in both concert and tenor size. Both are an absolute delight to the eye, featuring very striking wood patterning (sapwood streaks, knots, etc) that differs from that of the photographed models. I find the natural grain look (and lack of gloss finish) particularly appealing.
This concert model has a lovely tone - bright and resonant (as would be expected, the tenor is a fair bit louder).
As other reviewers have commented, the downsides are the poor-quality supplied strings and the slightly heavy neck. That said, given that the majority of solid acacia ukes cost at least three times the price, Thomann's models really are exceptional value for money.

Very impressed
This is made out of a stunning cut of acacia; Every instrument will obviously be different, and unique due to the heavily patterned wood. It has a very balanced sound between bottom resonance, even though it's tiny, and a very pleasing attack and clarity in the top.
Instead of buying an affordable plastic thing, spend a touch more and get this characterful instrument that'll last you... How long does wood last? ... There are still Stradivari around from 1680... So, buy an instrument that your great great great grandchildren will be able to play.
