Excellent SAX
30.11.2016
I have two Yani saxes and I wish to compare these with TTS-150. There is very close resemblance between them but a Yani costs about 10 times as much . This TTS-150 is a really well made sax . The octave mechanism is well made and the bottom C is properly set up . Even the mouthpiece is quite good enough for a beginner and is better made than others in this price bracket .It just needed a little sanding on the tip with fine emery just to remove some flecks of plastic and it was a good as a Yamaha 4C in plastic.
I tried 2 tenors from the famous shop in York UK which even though they were B stock were completely unplayable . They were described as having been reurned form previous owners, they were in a dreadful condition. No quality control at all. Whereas this played well straight out of the box. I believe it had been set up before dispatch. Good Quality Control at Thomann.
The lacquer is a nice golden colour and is very attractive .I have tweeked it to my satisfaction and it will now play comfortably in my hands for many years. The ' pearl inlays are naturally plastic but can easily be replaced with Mother of Pearl as I have done . You can get these from Ebay. But not really essential .I have a thomann soprano sax (in bronze ) and is also an excellent instrument. I don't know how they do it for the price . I would recommend this to anyone beginner or advanced. The tone ( mostly obtained by the mouthpiece ) is really excellent. I have had great pleasure in playing this sax and it looks good too. I shall play this as well as my Yanis . Yes you can tell the difference particularly in quality of manufacture but the difference is small . These Thomann saxes are certainly worth the money and the case is good too. I cannot praise them too highly I am a complete fan. Delivery was fast as usual. WELL DONE HANS !!!!!!!!!!!! you will make a lot of people happy with this quality of product.

Nice and rich sound
brotherdavor, 03.02.2020
This is my first sax ever. I've been playing keys for 25 years and I decided to enrich my music knowledge by moving into woodwind instruments. Saxophone was logic choice, since it will also be usefull as a second instrument in my cover band. The only doubt was choosing between alto or tenor sax, but reading many reviews and opinions, I found that tenor sax yould be much more attractive, with richer sound than alto sax. I read customer reviews here on Thomann website, and I realized that the only weak point of this sax would be mouthpiece, so I also ordered Yamaha 4C moutpiece along with the sax.
I was a little bit affraid of getting any sound, but first day when TTS-150 came to my adress and few minutes after I assebmled it, I got a very decent sound, much better than I expected, since I have never had any sax in my hands before. After three weeks of playing (not more than a half hour a day), I can say that I'm completely satisfied with this product. Yes -more expensive saxes would probably sound much better, but as a starter, the sound that I got from this sax is really rich and beautifull.
