Fine strings for jazz and for archtops
Mike245 20.06.2013
I have recently turned to the roundwound Jazz Bebpop strings BB113 by Thomastik Infeld for my jazz playing, having previously used their Jazz Swing JS113 flat wounds for this and the RP110 Power Brights for solid guitar instrumental work. All these are very fine and long-lasting strings with great tone and good playing comfort. The BB113 seem to transform the sound of high-end archtops, giving more brightness and character, with no loss of performance and tone; the .013 to .053 format of the strings give body to the sound whilst retaining left hand comfort. Highly recommended.

G
Expensive but nice sounding
Gabriel3017 05.12.2014
These strings are expensive, there is no doubting that. However in my opinion they are worth every penny. Many guitarists neglect the importance of string choice, and just go for whatever is cheapest. However when you have spent so much money on your instrument, why bother fitting the cheapest strings!? Also guitarists forget how spoilt we are with cheap strings, any other string instruments strings cost many times more the amount of a set of guitar strings! Anyway, these Thomastiks sound fantastic, they're made from a much tighter wrap of nickel than average strings so they're much easier on the fingers, also the gauges may appear odd at first, but actually when you play the guitar you'll notice how even the tension is across the set (a big problem for most brands of strings is that the treble strings are much flimsier than the bass strings/the bass strings are too heavy to play comfortably). These thomastiks feel perfect and the sound is just something else. They have a certain warmth and clarity that I've not heard in any other set of strings. They also have a nice silk wrap at the end of the string which does look pretty classy.

SD
To crisp for my setup
Steffen Dyhr-Nielsen 08.05.2021
I tried these for 2 months on my DeArmond hollow-body guitar and Bugera V22 amp. On this setup the B and high E kinda live in their own space and are hard on the ears when playing with a clean setting on the amp. The other 4 strings are to crisp for the sound I'm pursuing for my playing style. These strings might be the perfect choice for someone else though.

P
like flats, love these
Pawcraft 12.04.2017
I'm a TI guy through and through.
I've using flats on all m guitars but lately started to feel like I could get more out of my all-carved electric archtop. This set got the job done. Thank you thomann for the bargain
