Good case
AndyTheDude 27.07.2021
This is not the first Thon shallow case I have bought here on Thomann. No problems with any of them. They are very lightweight which is always a plus. I use this one as a PC case together with a Thon 25cm rack shelf that I have mounted the computer motherboard on. I have also put my Quantum 2626 in the top slot and now I have a lightweight and powerful and portable computer for live use with Ableton. This is not a flightcase of course, I wouldn't travel around the word with it but with careful use it will serve me well for local gigs for years to come.

Thon Rack 5U Eco II Compact 23

light and slim,. perfect for my effects and smaller bits that are easy to move around,. worth the money and have bought 5 of them,. they would be fine for carrying gear about or in a car,. not so sure i would put them in a truck or plane though,.. ! But they are not designed for that, but what they are designed for they do very well.

C
Great for an IEM / mixer rig for a guitarist
Curt_R 20.04.2024
Firstly, I'm very happy with the unit! I purchased this to make a small in ear monitoring rig that can sit on my guitar cab.

It's perfect for what I want to use it for. I've been able to fit in an Art PB4X4 Power Conditioner, Midas MR18 (Recessed with Bracket Warehouse Rack Ears), a Sennheiser EW300 IEM and Shure GLXD24, all plugged in and ready to go.

There was also space to mount a Behringer BA 19A boundary mic, for hearing room/crowd, and a TP Link AC750 5G Travel Router to the front of the Midas rack ears and still be able to close the front lid.

I also stuck a 4 way gang power strip to the back of the Midas, for plugging extra things in on the fly, and have some usb power leads running to the front, to power the Router, and power some Joyo 5.8GHz wireless mic adaptors, for quick setup when plugging the singer's mic and bass amp into the Midas.

I can slot my mic down hte side, along with my in ear pack, USB cables and spare plugs in a Shure mic pouch.

With all this stuff in above, the unit is then maxed out for space and comes in at a total of 15.5 kg, which is easy enough to carry, based on where the handle is. The latches and handle seem strong enough to handle the weight, without stress.

The fastening bolts and screws are fairly easy to slide in place for mounting devices. I prefer this design to the likes of the Pulse ABS rack units, where the holes don't always line up correctly.

It also sits well on top of my Marshall SV212

B
Great, bit a bit cheap plastic.
Balee 17.05.2018
I use it for my live singing setup (Mic receiver, EQ, Effects, IEM transmitter) and travelling became much more easy. I just close the doors and ready to go. And it is also great for storing the devices. But at all, you should be careful whwn you transport it, because its all plastic and not for heavy items.
