I really rate V-Picks for guitar and bass. I have 6 of them, I use mainly just 2. I've been using them exclusively for about 5 years and they're still going strong. I haven't lost one yet even though they are transparent. They actually make my instruments sound better and make playing easier. This is the only one i have which isn't transparent. Makes it a bit easier to find if you drop it.

Sehr fetter Ton, extrem langlebig und endlich auch mal eine Grösse die
meinen dicken Fingern liegt. Der Preis ist happig aber durch die Haltbarkeit
relativiert sich das! Antesten auf jeden Fall empfohlen!

Das Pick hat, wie bei den V-Picks üblich, einen sehr speziellen Sound: Sehr laute und harsche Höhen, im Bass quasi wummernd, aber irgendwie dazwischen nix. Das ist sicher sehr durchsetzungsfähig, aber für meine Ohren nicht sehr musikalisch. Ich würde sagen, nur für spezielle Zwecke geeignet, wo es auf Durchsetzungskraft ankommt.

"Freakishly Large" ist die einzige V-Pick-Grösse die ich gross genug finde. Ich würde sie als ein bisschen grösser als normal bezeichnen.

Welchen Maßstab soll man bei einem solchen Plektrum ansetzen? Ein Stück Plastik dürfte eigentlich nicht SO teuer sein, wie es hier der Fall ist. Der Ton, den man damit erreicht, ist allerdings recht warm (man sollte allerdings nachpolieren!) und präsent. Allerdings kann dieses Plektrum nicht mit den (dann doch wesentlich hochpreisigeren und aus anderem Material bestehenden) WEGEN Picks mithalten. Im Jazzbereich scheint es zur Firma WEGEN keine wirkliche Alternative zu geben.
