Great sounding mouthpiece!

I have only been playing saxophone for two years so I am no expert but I upgraded from a Yamaha 4C which was good to this AL5 which I think is superb. The sound is rich, smooth and potentially powerful but is easily controllable and although the AL5 is aimed at classical playing, I think it does jazz pretty well too. A great allrounder. It is also well made, nicely finished and will far exceed my playing ability in the future , I am sure.
What's not to like!

Mit dem Optimum AL 5 spiele ich im Vergleich zu meinen anderen Mundstücken den wärmsten u. weichesten Ton von allen. Fast wie ein schön geblasenes Waldhorn. Es lässt sich wahrscheinlich gut im Orchester und in der klassischen Musik einsetzen, wo ich nicht zuhause bin. Funk, Blues u. Rock - dafür ist es nicht gemacht, da fehlt auch die Dynamik u. Power. Die positive Kehrseite: Wer wegen der Nachbarn zuhause nicht laut spielen kann: dieses Mundstück lässt sich wunderbar leise spielen. Die 5er Öffnung ist mir noch zu wenig, 6 wäre mir lieber gewesen, aber dann geht vielleicht der weiche Klang verloren. Top Tones im 3. Stock spiele ich mit anderen Mundstücken deutlich einfacher.

Acheté sur les conseils de mon professeur pour remplacer le bec d'origine de mon sax alto Yamaha 480. Le jour et la nuit! un contrôle beaucoup plus facile, un son agréable, une tenue sans comparaison. Ce bec m'a permis d'accélérer mes progrès de façon spectaculaire, comme un soudain déblocage. Il est en plus polyvalent et permet d'aborder le classique ou le jazz avec le même plaisir. Les anches V12 vont très bien avec, elles assurent des attaques "propres", les ZZ pour le jazz lui vont également très bien.

Alternative zum Vantoren Optimum Al-3

Habe über 2 Jahre das Vandoren Al-3 gespielt und wollte etwas mehr Luft durch das Mündstück bringen. Bin dann bei Al5 gelandet.
Mein persönlicher Eindruck verglichen mkt dem AL-3
- Sehr ähnlicher Klang
- Leichtere Luftführung, bekomme jetzt die Luft besser weg.
- Stabiles Vibrato
- Ausdruckstärker im Bending und etwas mehr Lautstärke möglich.
Mein erstes das ich bestellt hatte hat leicht gepfiffen. Habe es zurückgeschickt und noch mal ein Al-5 bestellt. Das hat dann gepasst!
Habe jetzt meine Mundstückodysee zwischen Meyer, Selmer, Vandoren und Otto Link beendet und bleib beim AL5. Man kann es klassisch spielen und auch modern jazzig.
Möchte noch dazusagen das ich kein Profi bin und auch noch keine 100 Jahre Alt Sax spiele. Also bitte meine Wertung unter diesem Aspekt sehen.
Mein Setup Yanigisawa AW01, Vandoren Optimum AL5, Rico Royal 3 alternativ mehr klassich Vandoren Blau 2,5.
