My first and best Harpbook
Sarah9042 13.02.2014
The bar for Blues Harp schlechthin.Der author knows how to make a loose, relaxed feeling and gives the practitioner from the beginning the feeling that he (the author) , " one of them " and not with all his knowledge , the Harp game came to the world, but to the same extent had to practice , as " one of us " .
Structured, concise and very easy to understand even for the absolute newbie, this increases the difficulty level and step by step.
Read music is not necessary, as all exercises and music are reproduced with the help of an easy to understand tablature.
Theoretical background music 's just as background information on bands and artists of the particular musical genre. CD and literature tips included.
The accompanying audio CD is a great , almost indispensable aid just for the absolute beginners. On it are all the Exercises, by the author himself .
For beginners , but also for those who are already on the first notes out and want to know " what they're doing because actually there" (and this will bring with the help of music-theoretical explanations for in experience / can ) , this book is a must have.
My recommendation ...... buy and have fun on it !

Good start for beginners

This book was my attemp to learn the harp.

It starts with some basics about the harp like the history, function, the handling and general techniques. The learning comes along with different Song with rising complexity and new techniques( tongue blocking, lipping...)
There are also a lot of information about music theory and blues in particular. You don't have the read notes, besides the notes there is always a harp tabulatur with makes at easy to learn the songs.
I just reed the first chapters, but as far as I can tell it becomes much more tricky and the end. In my opinion the a littel bit much of music theory, but maybe that is necessary to become a really good harp player.

Harp playing needs a lot of feeling and before I bought that book i never really undestand how to play just one tone or how to overbend a tone. This book really helps me to understand theese basics so I can really commend the book.

NB: The book is in German language
