Surprised how I use it

After using the pedal for a while I realize I use it as an es pedal … . Strangely enough I did not yet get a fantastic tone out of it on it’s own (both on Fender and Marshall type amps). However I use it to get great tones out of my fuzz pedals and other overdrives. The key is of course the mid knob. The pedal is really great to fill up the missing parts on the tone spectrum or to lower certain frequencies. As a result I now have most of the time ‘stacked overdrives’ and far more tonal control. I wanted it to fill the gap of ‘mid boost’ overdrive in my collection and maybe it just made clear why I did not have a tube screamer. However it iscused almost all the time to get the tone I like to play with.

Der Mid-Poti... Einfach nur geil

Das Ding ist nicht ohne Grund von Josh Scott (JHS) als besserer "Bad Monkey" bezeichnet worden.

Der mit Mid-Button ist einfach genial und bietet so viele Tonale Möglichkeiten... Und das ist noch nicht alles. Der Punch und der Smooth mode ist auch absolut brauchbar, um entweder die Kanten zu glätten oder mehr Pfeffer zu geben.

Einfach hervorragend, dieses Teil.

Ein Triumph in allen Belangen

Hier ist er also, der unscheinbare aber konsequente Schlüssel zum Overdrive-Himmel.
Nach unzähligen OD's auf meinem Board (Klon, Tubescreamer, Bluesbreaker, meist Boutique) reicht dieser einfache kleine Treter von der "Stange", um alle vorherigen in den Schatten zu stellen.
Die Verarbeitung ist tadellos und das Design schlicht. Unter der Haube versteckt sich ein Bad Monkey (Smooth) und ein SD-1 (Punch), welche über einen Switch wählbar sind. Doch es handelt sich hier nicht um einen einfachen Clone der beiden Pedale, sondern die schlauen Köpfe der Firma Wampler haben ihre eigenen Tweeks und Nuancen eingebracht. Es gibt z.B. eine Schippe mehr Gain und durch den hervorragenden 3-Band-EQ deutlich mehr Klangmöglichkeiten als bei den Originalen. Außerdem sind die Buchsen an der Sirnseite, was sehr pedalboardfreundlich ist.
Ich bevorzuge den Punch-Modus mit etwas mehr Bass und Mitten und bei meiner Fender-Röhre geht die Sonne auf.
Klassischer, durchsetzungsfähiger Drive zum verlieben.

Einziges Manko: der Fußtaster ist kein Softswitch

Buscaba un overdrive clásico que sonara más a Klon que a Screamer.
Mis 5 estrellas en todo es por sus características/precio. En la mano es un producto bien acabado, sólido. La presentación es de calidad en su embalaje. El tacto al uso de sus perillas es es firme y el led visible.
Solo me queda calificar el sonido y aquí esto es mas personal.
El ecualizador es magnífico, graves, medios y agudos en conjunto para sacar un tono que te guste. En el caso que se use de booster puede colorear la señal y darle vidilla y calidez.
El overdrive tira suficiente para rockear aunque todavía es pronto para evaluar el selector de modo. Me da la impresión que le da algo más de empuje pero no comprime mas. Lo sabré cuando grabe algo.

PROS: ecualización de calidad y gain potente para un overdrive. Buen precio para lo que se compra.

CONTRAS: por el momento no tengo nada que puede remarcar.

VALORACION: sólo la salida ecualizada ya vale la compra, el overdrive da para mucho. Recomiendo este overdrive para trabajar con otros. En mi pedalera trabajan juntos el StoneDeaf PDF-2 + Drive In de Neo Instruments para empujar + WAMPLER Triumph overdrive
