It might be just an expansion module, but it would be silly not to have it, if you already own a Batumi. It greatly extends Batumi's possibilities allowing you to switch waveforms, and sync them, or randomize them.
Sure you could do it without Poti, but it's not realistic to access the back of the Batumi each time you want to access the switch. Poti makes your life easier and puts them right where you need them to be.
