This worked great for adding a new Tele six-way switch and for a more extensive new jazzmaster rewiring project. Cloth covered wire has a nice vintage look/feel but, more importantly, it is really easy to work with - it goes where you tell it to as it has a little bit of rigidity and less need for stripping and heat shrink tubing as you can pull the cloth back then let it slide right up to your solder join.

I soldered jumpers between strat switch lugs, grounded pots and did some longer connections. Didn’t have any issues with the pushback. Cloth is sturdy and the wire inside the cloth is high quality. Highly recommend it.

Ich habe diese stoffummantelten Litzen bei zwei meiner Elektronik-Umbauten benutzt und werde zukünftig nur noch derartige Litzen verwenden. Sie haben für mich genau den richtigen Querschnitt, um damit angenehm arbeiten zu können. Sie sind dünn genug, um durch die kleinen Terminals von Push-Pull-Potis oder Mini-Schaltern geführt zu werden und trotzdem ausreichend stabil, sodass man keine abgerissenen oder gebrochenen Litzen befürchten muss, sollte man beispielweise beim Einbau die gesamte Elektronik etwas stauchen müssen. Sie nehmen Lötzinn sehr gut auf und was mich absolut überrascht hat ist, wie hitzebeständig die Stoffummantelung ist; da kann man ohne Bedenken über längere Zeit mit 350°C dran falls erforderlich, ohne dass die Ummantelung abraucht. Wenn die Lötverbindung dann erfolgreich hergestellt ist, schiebt man den Stoff wieder bis zur Lötstelle an das Terminal oder die Lötöse ran und kann Kurzschlüsse oder unbeabsichtigte Masse-Verbindungen ausschließen.
Ich werde wie gesagt nur noch diese Litzen verwenden, da sie sehr gut zu verarbeiten sind und Hitzeinwirkungen standhalten.
