Professional Microphone Cable (Cable Reel)

A classic in setup and construction: conductor cross section 0.22 mm², flexible 0.10 Cu wires, spiral shield. CORDIAL has redefined the term workhorse among microphone cables through its use of low-capacity PE (polyethylene) as conductor insulation. This cable is predestined for permanent use on stage and in busy studios.

Gets stiffer over time

I built a load of microphone lines with this cable a few years ago. It's very easy cable to work on. The rubber trims easily and makes it easy to prep everything.

For the first season, it all worked well. Coiled up nicely, and felt nice and loose. But after about a year of use, I started to notice it getting stiffer. It seems to have settled now, but it's not as loose as it once was. It still coils well, but when you unravel it, it doesn't come open as easily as some other cable brands. Not a huge deal, but a little irritating. I'm gradually transitioning my stock to other cable makes instead.

Becoming my cable of choice

This Cable Reel is super affordable and actually pretty high quality. This company are quickly becoming my go to cable and this is another great purchase I've had off them.

A studio I worked at was closing and throwing away old XLR ends, so i collected them all and decided to make some cables.

These cables are mainly being used for a live environment and are great as they are durable and coil up very easily.

Of course these aren't the same quality as VDC and others etc, but they are still very usable and as a user and owner of high quality equipment (U87s, Neve, Millenia, Burl) I have found that they have quietly gained my trust.

Bang for the buck

Perfect for stage, I built ten 10M XLR cables with this. Pair it with good connectors, fold it properly and it will last a lifetime. It is neither too loose nor too rigid. I really can't see any reason to buy anything else at higher price, at least for live music, which is the only field I tested this.

I bought this in this quantity to cut into 20m lengths for a project. It's been absolutely great quality, and is perfect for use with microphones. The black colour has the added advantage of not showing in video (especially the more fluorescent cables can seem to light up under LED lighting, which often has a big UV component.

This was a purchase many years ago and it's still faultless!
