A motorised player for professionals

The Denon DJ SC6000M Prime is a high-quality and modern large media player for professional club use with an intuitive 10.1" hi-res touchscreen. Like the almost identical Denon DJ SC6000 Prime, the precise pitch fader, the responsive performance pads and the other high-quality components as well as the excellent sound are of the highest standard. However, the SC6000M Prime has a very special feature to offer: The "M" in the name stands for "motor", because it doesn't have a rigid jog wheel but a real motorised and adjustable 8.5" platter with a DJ vinyl and a slipmat underneath. This almost feels like DJing with one or even two real turntables, because thanks to modern Dual Layer technology, the SC6000M Prime has two independent players on board, each with its own analogue and digital outputs. With a DJ mixer, two separate signals can thus be mixed from a single player.

For fans of the vinyl touch

Among many professional DJs, the Denon DJ SC6000 series is considered the most versatile range of standalone players on the market, despite its comparatively low price point. The algorithms for master pitch, timestretch, and sync allow for seamless, beat-matched mixes without any loss of sound quality. As usual, songs are loaded from a USB stick or SD card. With an optional SSD, tens of thousands of songs can be stored directly on the device. In addition, millions of songs are available on Beatport, Beatsource, SoundCloud, and TIDAL via WLAN or network streaming, which can be browsed as comfortably as on a tablet via the large touchscreen. With the Denon DJ SC6000M Prime, such advanced features are finally available with a vinyl feel, cutting out the need to fumble around with DVS systems and laptops on stage.

Streaming and more

The Denon DJ SC6000M Prime can read not only Denon's own Engine Prime format but also Pioneer Recordbox USB sticks, which makes the switch easy for CDJ DJs too. The Denon streams music directly from the internet via WLAN or network connection, and it can function as a controller for Serato and Virtual DJ and even be used for professional lighting and video control with Resolume and SoundSwitch via StagelinQ connection. Scratching videos with vinyl techniques in tunr opens up completely new horizons for DJs and VJs. With its double-layer technology and two independent outputs, the SC6000 Prime is basically two players in one, as the control interface allows the user to switch between layers. The Denon DJ SC6000M Prime feels fantastic, sounds excellent, and makes a convincing case with its unbeatable price-performance ratio.

About Denon

The Japanese-American company Denon was founded in 1910 and established itself as a leading brand in the 1930s. It has long stood for ground-breaking technological innovations that were frequently world firsts in their time. Denon's passion for invention has produced many remarkable technologies, including the first professionally usable recording device for gramophone records (1939), the first Japanese stereo records and stereo systems (1951), and the first PCM recorder, which was based on the same principle as today's CDs (1970). In 1982, Denon launched the first CD player for home use, the DCD-2000, another milestone among its already widespread innovations. Today the company belongs to D&M Holdings Inc. and is famous for its hi-fi and DJ products.

Multifunctional player for all occasions

Denon DJs can organise their music on their computer with the free Engine Prime software as well as supply the DJ SC6000 Prime with playlists from a USB stick, SD card, or SSD. Music can also be analysed and organised directly on the unit and saved to a USB stick "on the fly", all without a computer. The player can even independently read, play, and convert libraries in Pioneer's own rekordbox format. Thanks to their network capability, all connected Prime Players can access the music simultaneously, and with the Qwerty keyboard on the 10.1" touchscreen, specific songs can be quickly searched and found by title. In Serato DJ Pro controller mode, the SC6000M Prime serves as an accessory controller for Serato. The turntable's torque can be adjusted, but the motor can also be simply switched off, in which case the turntable functions like a normal jog wheel.

In the spotlight: Built-in vinyl controller

Several manufacturers have already released controllers with rotating jog wheels to give DJs the authentic feel of a vinyl record on a slipmat under their fingers. They have experimented with a wide variety of formats, from 5" CD size to 7" single size to 12" LP-sized turntables. The Denon DJ SC6000M Prime is the first professional media player to convincingly implement this concept in a single unit. The decision was made in favour of an 8.5" solution and the perfect middle ground was found between optimum functionality and a form factor suitable for everyday use. No laptop is needed to operate the system, thanks to the convenience of an industry-leading media player. Stand-alone vinyl scratching without a connected computer is currently only available with the Denon DJ SC6000M Prime.
