Good guitar, average electrics

Pro:
- The "FAT" neck is indeed pleasingly chunky without being a ridiculous 'baseball bat'. It's a C profile similar to that on the HB-35, but feels a touch thicker.
- Finish is very nice. Not 100% perfect, but close. Let's say 98%. If you inspect the guitar more closely than you ever will after the day you get it, you will find tiny cosmetic flaws. As an illustration, the worst flaw I found was that the fret marker dots on the edge of the fingerboard were not centred correctly.
- Fretwork is good. No rough ends, and the frets are smooth and shiny. It's good enough out of the box for someone who doesn't need extremely low action.
- Ebony fingerboard (they insist that it is really ebony) I think looks a bit classier than the dyed whatever they use on the regular version of this guitar. It's not a black ebony, but it does look and feel like the real thing.
- Volume and tone pots are effective across most of their range.

Cons:
- This is a noisy guitar. The pickup in "humbucker" mode (more like hum-cancelling) is pointless. It does eliminate hum, but it is more susceptible to electromagnetic interference, and in some situations is actually noisier than the single coil.
And in either mode, it is not the most inspiring pickup. I'm not convinced that having two P90s strapped together back-to-back is actually a good idea. I've already bought a standard P90 to replace the dual thing in this guitar, put it that way. And I'm going to use shielded wire at every opportunity, unlike Messrs Harley and Benton.

Genuinely Great

I'm legitimately surprised by how good this guitar is every time I play it. I was fully expecting to have to replace some of the stock parts, but they're all good. No tuning stability issues, no intonation problems, and the pickup sounds great. I play high-gain nu metal stuff in dropped C#, but it sounds good for clean/low gain stuff, too. It did need a setup out of the box.
