Variety and aesthetics
The Fusion-III HH HT Roasted SSP model is a real eye-catcher. The nyatoh body comes with a high-gloss "Sparkle Pink" finish at the front and a transparent mahogany-style finish at the back, and the roasted bolt-on neck is made of Canadian flamed maple. This instrument is very comfortable to play thanks to its nut width of 42mm and its modern C neck profile. The roasted ebony fingerboard with 24 wear-free jumbo stainless steel frets is also more than an off-the-rack product. In addition, the guitar features a TUSQ nut, a WSC Hipshot-style HT bridge, and WSC staggered locking diecast machine heads. The electronics comprise two AlNiCo-5 vintage-style humbuckers made by Roswell, which are complemented by a three-way switch as well as potentiometers for volume and tone. The latter allows the humbuckers to be split via a push-pull function, thus also making single-coil sounds possible, and the jack socket is ergonomically recessed into the side of the body.

Roasting
Roasting is one of a range of heat treatment methods that can be applied to wood. This method, which is a relatively recent development, is used in order to give new and/or alternative woods the same tonal characteristics as older, matured tone woods (some of which are now protected by conservation laws and can thus no longer be sold). The wood is placed in a special computer-controlled oven and dried to a pre-determined degree – in other words, its natural drying phase is artificially shortened. This process also changes the wood’s visual appearance, darkening its colour and making the pattern of the grain more distinct.
