B
Really good
BassFab 20.05.2020
Got this one for trying something new after years of Ernie Ball and other major brands. They feel really good and sound quite right! Packaging is minimal and kind of eco-friendly, strings are very "rough" to the touch (that's the way I like them, other people might think different). Deep bass and fresh middle-high frequency.

Very good.

A luthier that had a look to my bass for an electronic issue told me "d'addario is crap" even If I was using it for years, I don't have any problem with d'addario personally, but I decided to make an attempt on another higher grade brand. This is quite recent, made in europe, with a famous name for bass, and there is a nice video on youtube that compares the sound of different types of strings from this brand. This was enough for me to try this "energy" type, and discover the stainless steel strings at the same time. I really enjoy this less medium sound for a more broadened spectrum and even some kind of natural compression I would say (exactly why I chose to try it from the video actually). I even swapped to stainless steel with my guitars now (don't know if it will last but for now I really enjoy it a lot more).
For the down side I think 120 is kind of small for the B string and it really feels and sounds like it.. Unfortunately at the time of this post thay don't have much choice on the gauge yet, but I think 125 would do it better with this light gauge personnally...
And also yes, stainless steel generally speaking is a lot more rough to the touch and produces a lot more finger noises, so it asks a little more care to play clean... be aware.

knurrig, agile B-Saite und gute Abstufung
cf_bass 29.04.2020
Kaufempfehlung.
