interesting and surprising
Our Greek friends did a great job. A really small but functional envelope filter. The sensitivity knob is balanced, the octave switch is not bad at all in terms of bass on the left and treble on the right. It can also be used as a filter pre or post. If there's a lot of treble after the filter, it's good to have a chance to pick up some with the gain knob. But don't expect much gain, it's in the booster setting. I tried Expression, but frankly, it was mediocre. Freq knob turns hard to the right, it's troublesome. But I did not return it because it did my job and did not cause any problems.

Great idea - meh product
It is fun! But there are some issues :(
There are two different types of 'lag' when playing it in the 'octave' config. One happens when you disengage the octave pressing down the button. It takes a couple of milliseconds to actually stop the effect AFTER you pressed the button. The second 'lag' happens when you move the switch from pre to post. In a particular configuration, the octave sounds after you pluck you guitar. Again, just milliseconds after. A third problem rises when plugging the expression pedal. (Disclosure, I bought an exp. pedal that doesn't work with this gadget, the Volume (X) mini, by Dunlop... After connecting both pedals together, the Tsakalis one drops an AWFUL sound when turning the freq. knob all the way to the right. It might be just mine though. Hard to believe, but ignoring this issues, the pedal is fun.

DG
Funky by nature!
Everything you need to be a funk master in one pedal, the Phoniky is feature packed and the addition of an expression input is a nice touch. Can't rate it highly enough!!
