Optimised response

The beyerdynamic TG I53 is a back-electret condenser microphone from the company's Touring Gear series, and it has a cardioid polar pattern and immense versatility. It is the successor to the Opus 53 and has an optimised high-frequency response that makes it suitable for miking a range of different instruments, such as hi-hats, acoustic guitars, and flutes. Thanks to its robust, carbon fibre-reinforced housing, which protects the electronic inner workings and the capsule from external mechanical influences, it is ideally suited to the everyday rigours of touring life. A suitable microphone holder is also included in the scope of delivery to allow it to be securely mounted on a stand.

Frequency-independent cardioid polar pattern

With its wide frequency response, subtle boost in the treble frequencies, and high impulse response, the TG I53 is suitable for a wide range of applications. In addition, it features a frequency-independent cardioid polar pattern that mutes rear-incident sound and also provides a high degree of feedback immunity. The TG I53 can be used with all balanced microphone inputs with phantom power from 12V to 48V, making it compatible with many different systems. However, the manufacturer recommends a 48V supply.

Ready for the road and the studio

The TG I53's optimised response and solid, compact design make it the perfect touring companion: The robust, carbon fibre-reinforced housing protects against damage, while the slim design allows easy, inconspicuous positioning and the frequency-independent cardioid polar pattern reduces the amount of background noise picked up and minimises the mic's susceptibility to feedback. In addition to the stage, it can also be profitably used in the studio, making the TG I53 extremely flexible at a comparatively affordable price.

About beyerdynamic

beyerdynamic was founded in Berlin in 1924 as a manufacturer of cinema loudspeakers. In 1937, Eugen Beyer developed the DT 48, the first set of dynamic headphones, followed two years later by the M 19 dynamic microphone. After the Second World War, the company moved to Heilbronn, Germany, and now also has a US subsidiary with headquarters in Farmingdale, New York. beyerdynamic's most popular products traditionally include headphones and microphones for both live and studio use, and the company also has a strong presence in the consumer and conference technology sectors as well as in the field of installation microphones, interpreter consoles, and tour guide systems.

Highly appreciated on the drums

The beyerdynamic TG I53 is an excellent choice for miking a drum kit. No matter whether it’s used as an overhead microphone or on the hi-hat: Thanks to its optimised treble response, it will impress with its bright and full-bodied sound and thus deliver excellent results. It is not without reason that the TG I53 is an integral part of beyerdynamic's "TG Drum Set Pro" professional drum microphone set. As the microphone puts a slight emphasis on the treble frequencies, the TG I53 is also eminently suitable for use on string and wind instruments.
