A game changer...
I often find I need a lighter pick for strumming an acoustic rhythm part but I do not like the tone or feel of a light pick for lead playing, so I decided to try this pick. I am glad I did. The guages and shape of each side of the pick are perfect for me. The blue side is flexible and gives a bright sound and a light resistance which facilitates fast rhythm guitar parts. The black side has a sharp tip and is perfect for precise speed picking. The red side is slightly more rounded and yields a warm deep tone which I find excellent for acoustic lead playing. The rivets that hold it together add to the grip and it feels comfortable in the hand- even though I am accustomed to a smaller pick I have not dropped it once. Also the bright contrasting colours ought to make it easy to find if dropped. I have not had it long enough to rate it properly for durability but it seems well built and made of quality material. I will be using these from now on.

Another great innovation from Black Mountain
Black Mountain have become my standard thumb pick, and I want to try something else from them. These flat picks are unique and I think everyone should try them. Particularly good if you need to go between fast accompaniment strumming and cutting lead. I've used mine mostly on acoustic, I imagine they've be good on electric as well.
The difference in tone is truly striking, and the constructions is really justified, the different materials will not only affect the sound, but also influence your playing.
