Not ideal for a pro
Being able to run album productions and mixes from 1 powerful laptop has been great for me. The thought of adding a bluetooth midi keyboard to my mobile rig has been an amazing thought but not in actuality. The CME xkey Air has tried to full fill this without success imo. The action and feel of they keys do not justify a 37 key as it is unplayable if you are a serious player. Reverting to the mini keys of my IK multimedia i Rig keys and comparing the two was extremely telling as the CME falls short quite significantly.
The setup of the CME is not easy for the novice as fiddling with drivers and settings takes a little time and figuring out. It certainly isn't plug and play if running from a laptop with Logic or PT.
The external noise of the keys is loud as well as uncomfortable, easy to be heard through headphones.
Finally this 37 key model is a little too heavy to justify its mobility with my mobile rig.
