k
Billy Gibons feeling
kryddan 15.02.2021
I bought these mostly for fun. Wanted to try thin strings. It was a blast. They sound "thicker" then they are. I'm used to .09-.10 normally so this felt like bending water :) Maybe not really my cup of tea these ultra thin, but they surprised me in a positive way. I might buy more one day when I have a proper guitar that I can dedicate to them :) Well worth the purchase.

R
007 Guitar Strings !
Robert814 25.11.2014
I've been using these as my mainstay "Go To" strings for over 3 years now. They are very much an "Acquired" taste, just like the Red Sharkfin plectrums that perfectly complement them (283751). You have to be prepared to change your style. If you push them around too much and too hard, then they will go out of tune. (If you use hyper-sensitive power assisted steering, then drive heavy handed you may end up in a ditch!). If you want to be able to relax and enjoy really comfortable playing - for hours (If the rest of the band like/can put up with!) then these may be the perfect strings! If you want to smash hell out of the guitar - get some anchor cable or 012's or something, not these. These are THE most comfortable strings ever!

Hot damn

I usually use 11's, so this is a big big jump for me. They are suprisingly good sounding, they stay in tune, even with extreme overbending, there is so little tension that you can do weird stuff with them, but you got to be careful on pressing with your tapping hand so than the notes don't go over the pitch. Also, a lighter pick attack is perferable, they are not for chugging, but damn, on my LP, now I know why Billy is playing them.

Really impressive
Dolan 12.03.2018
I saw a video where people tried out these strings as a challenge, and I thought I would try them out just for fun. My usual go-to strings are Ernie Ball Skinny Top Heavy Bottom strings, which is a much heavier set. I was really surprised at how the Dunlop strings hold tune. I use them on my Fender Telecaster, and they made the guitar a lot more fun to play. Obviously, they bend easily, but they still give quite output. Overall, great strings, and I'm thinking of putting these on all my guitars!

Way cool rubber bands...
Jan481 10.05.2014
Nothing short of amazing. Reverend Willy's (aka Billy Gibbons) really slim strings so thin that the high E-string is practically invisible! And when you bend and vibrate it moves so easy it is almost silly. At first, they feel like rubber bands, but you get used to them pretty quickly. The thing you need to relearn is actually not to over bend. When you are used to .10's, or even .11's or higher, these strings move without no effort at all. It is actually a nice feeling. I am still in the learning phase, but I will surely keep these strings on one or two of my main guitars. They sound good and gives your guitar a little bit more trebly headroom, without losing any fatness in the mids and lows. Recommended for you that are not faint of heart...

Slinky fun

I believe these are the Billy Gibbons signature set and possibly the only mass produced set of 7-38 today. I usually have 8-38 on one of my teles so I had to give these a try. Now obviously this set is not for the heavy handed and one of the reasons I've been using the 8-38 gauge is to train a lighter touch in both hands. If you can play with that in mind these are ridiculous fun to play with. The bending and the sliding is so effortless and with a light touch and controlled technique the tone can be warm, even full. Gauge apart these seem to be of good consistent quality and I have never snapped any of them.

Great if you need very light strings
Anonymous 26.01.2017
I strung up a Gibson SG with these and don't feel like I sacrificed much in tone. If you have a light touch, there generally are no issues with fretting notes sharp, but players with a heavy touch will fret notes sharp.

Bends are extremely easy and I needed to get used to the strings else I would always overbend. I have had no issues with them staying in tune, and I can get a decent attack without a whole lot of fret buzz.

I've got small fingers!!
Palmer123 26.10.2022
Having been blessed with fingers the size of cocktail sausages I've always struggled with heavier gauge strings.

Found these and they do an absolutely fantastic job. Fingers never get tired. I also like the twangy bottom end. Played on my Orange Blast they sound great.

Quality strings.
Anonymous 28.08.2016
I've wanted to try a set of these for ages, having picked up damage to my ring finger...I struggled after loosing the tip of it in an accident, it's around 20mm shorter now...its sensitive too..
I bought these and can say straight away, they feel so delicate, but they are not, they haven't broken and are stable in tuning, I love them...
I don't believe that tone has been sacrificed as I've made the adjustments to accommodate these strings, like pick up height etc...if your new to guitar or have compromised hands....try them, not many places hold these-
They are great quality, value and you will be Impressed as I am!
