Heavy distortion
Ray97 10.07.2017
This is the first distortion pedal I've used and I'm starting to love it more and more every time I try it. The distortion is pretty heavy and muddy and even on lowest settings it's very fuzzy and dirty. The distortion is excellent for heavy rhythm playing - it's very dirty but has a good attack to it. I find it a bit too heavy for lead playing, although it works with a bit of tweaking on the tone and sustain. Power chords roar with it and the metal housing feels like it can take beating. The controls can give you a few options in tone but one should keep in mind that even with sustain turned down it's still pretty muddy.

Pros:
built like a tank
brilliant for heavy rhythm playing/power chords
massive sound

Cons:
a bit too much for lead playing
doesn't "roll off" at lower settings/not very dynamically responsive (very muddy even when sustain and guitar volume are turned down)

Nice fuzz sounds & saturated sustain
Subtle 27.01.2021
I use the Little Big Muff Pi for 2 reasons mainly, first one being, I needed a warm fuzz sound for recording riffs and the second reason being sustain for lead playing since my pickup output is somewhat weak on the e and b strings. It does both of these jobs for me very well.

Some other things i noticed: The casing is very sturdy, the controls are very intuitive and can blend some crazy sounds, depending on what you dial in the pedal can create crazy loud feedback but just keeping it away from the amp fixies that issue.

True to the classic
Akseli 03.10.2021
To clarify, this pedal is not subtle. It's a unique and heavy fuzz, which more or less takes over your tone with little regard to the amp or guitar you are using. This being said, it's amazing at what it does - especially for the price. The "little" version is very close to the original Big Muff. Definitely worth it for the convenience.

Small minus for the stiff and clicky foot switch.

Lots of character
Anonymous 17.06.2014
This was the first single-effect pedal for my electric guitar I purchased 3 years ago, and it still is on my pedalboard, getting much use.
Let me first point out a downside - there is a clicking sound in the amp, when you use the footswitch. Otherwise, it is a fine little pedal. Its character is somewhere between fuzz and distortion, and this changes depending on the pickup you use (neck or bridge) and the position of the tone knob. The sound is very juicy and full, and the pedal is usable and great-sounding with all the different types of guitars, both humbuckers and single coils. The Little Big Muff would benefit from a separate low/high control, though.
The case is very solid, and surprisingly the pedal came with a battery inside, which is a pleasant bonus (you do not know that before you open the casing though).
A great purchase all in all, never had a single regret.

DO
Cool pedal
Darren O. 10.07.2015
First i only bought this as i heard the Big Muff was used by Kurt Cobain on Nevermind and that was the sound i was looking for a E.P i was doing.

Firstly make sure you have TS cables and not TRS as most pedals are designed to to only work with TS to conserve power. (TRS can be used on the output not the input).

Okay so the pedal has 3 knobs and a foot switch.

It has sounds for different genres but not every setting is going to work. With this kind of pedal your going to need a lot of tweeking to get the tone you want.

The sustain is the amount of distortion on this pedal. I find the best spots for a good sound is at 12, 3, and 5 o clock.

This is a good pedal if you like the big fuzz sound. Would suit Metal and Punk more than any other genres in my opinion.

Over all i recommend you might find it useful to have on your pedal board but not for everyone.

A classic
Hammer2021 12.09.2021
This is a great pedal to get that classic muff tone. I don't always keep it on my pedal board as its not a sound I need that often, but when I do, this is my preferred pedal to get it. I think it's one of those pedals everyone should have!

"Little" for space, "Big" for sound
Jesus972 24.03.2014
A bit wider than a Boss pedal but a lot smaller than the classical Big muff, the Little Big Muff fits in your stompbox rack without problems and gives you the kind of retro sounding distortion that Hendrix fans like. I do not find sonic differences betwen this one and his bigger brother. The volume knob acts as a gain control. The tone knob really changes the sound giving you a wide colour palette and, best of all, sustain does not feel just like an output controll, it really adds bold duration to the notes played. This stombox is one of a kind. True bypass and solid nice good looking makes this pedal fairly worth the price.
