Nothing exceptional
I've bought couple of Elixirs of various light gauge as spare strings and for some experimenting with custom set. I was curious about it and Ernie Ball singles are available only as sets of six (which would take years for me to spent).
Anti-rust plain steel Elixirs are packed quite crude in paper sleeve and in my opinion are nothing exceptional, maybe even slightly worse in sound. Their price is higher than d'Addario's singles, but this difference doesn't matter. For the durability I have to wait, I don't play guitar intensively.

a must have for guitar players
Who hasn't broke an E string on their guitar? It happens all the time, so if you're in a live situation, or just don't want to change the other strings because they still sound great, the best is to have a good replacement around. These elixir singles are pretty good sounding and long lasting, so you can keep them in your guitar case for a long time without no problems, since they have an anti-corrosion coating.

Always the G string
Fitting new Elixir strings to my 12-string acoustic I managed to snap the high octave G string even though I was tuning down by a semitone, so I had to borrow a .009 gauge string from a new pack of Ernie Ball super slinkys ... and hence the need to stock up with some .009 single string replacements. These are not nanoweb coated like the full set I was fitting to my 12 string which do not appear to be available as single strings but at this gauge it is no problem.

Elixir
I use these strings for a long time now. And they are the only strings that do not rust or lose any tone for a long time.
The strings feel less loose than the other brands, though. It almost feels like gage 010.
It is absolutely worth the money if you have troubles with rusting strings.

Perfect for aggresive sweat
They sound awesome and they don't corrode as easily as other brands. The price may be a bit on the higher end but is definitely worth it if your sweat is rusting other brands in a week. Amazing in general.

Great string, just it broke.
My father likes to build his own set, he really likes .009 by Elixir but it broke in less than a month.
What can I say, better luck next time! Last time it did last quite a time.

Durable
It's coated, which makes it very resistant to corrosion until you damage the coating with picking. Even then it only corrodes at the damaged part, leaving most of the string shiny.
