A high quality instrument packed with tone and mojo
I bought this to fill a gap in my collection, namely a hollwo body with P90s.
Upon recieving the instrument, I was blown away. The setup straight out the box was incredible - lovely action, great feel, and not a mark on the guitar. The acoustic sound is rich and resonant with incredible dept, character and clarity. It'll spend a lot of time being played unplugged, thats for sure.
Once I eventually got round to pluggin it into my AC15, I was blown away. I've never played a guitar with such character and versatility. Set to the very edge of break up, the volume and tone controls offer a road to so many tones and textures. Anything from smooth lean rhythms, to strikingly bright arpeggios, to fat lead tones. I also found that, with a bit of drive, the sound is satisfyingly full. Don't be put off by tales of incessent feedback either. I experienced nothing I couldn't control in a musical way.
If i had to criticise, the case probably isn't quite as nice as a Gibson - but only marginally so.
This is, without a shadow of a doubt, one of the best guitars I've ever played in my 35 years as a guitarist. Don't let the Epiphone badge put you off - this is a killer guitar, and worth every single penny I paid.
