Evans G2 Studio / Fusion Set Coated
I go between G1's and G2's,the G2's both coated and clear versions give me all the tone and durability I need for my toms on my maple and birch kits in recording and live sessions,i've also ordered 8"&16" heads for my bigger tom set ups.

Fantastic heads. Highly recommended over other industry standard heads.
Have used Evans G2's before and this set was replacing the rest of the heads on another kit which was fitted with Remo Coated Emperors. I really like the fact that my drums just 'sing' with these on- more so than the former heads. Tuning is quick and easy and stays is place over long periods of time and these heads sound grrrrrrrreat when miked up. You have to try these on toms....absolutely fantastic. If you don't know one of the main people behind these heads- Bob Gatzen...google him or watch his youtube videos, then you will realise why Evans heads sound fantastic and their sibling company Pure Sound snare strainers will take your drums to a totally higher level! Highly recommended.

Excellent for brushes
as i said in the title - these heads are excellent for brushes but there is a bit too much of a 'pingy' ring to them when hard sticked - this is with a range of sticks - they are hardwearing so would be great for your rehearsal kit but for studio work i would consider them quite genre specific. They hold their tune well - i am using them with a mapex powerhoop and they fit well to the bearing head and they dont take too long for them to settle in and dont need any retuning work unless you are wanting to change pitch. A good addition to the tone arsenal.

Skins
Love these. Okay so in my 7 years as a drummer I've never replaced my tom skins (I have no idea how I got away with it.. ). I switched them with clear stock PDP skins, and at first I was a bit disappointed. They sounded "dead" in comparison. Anyway gigged the next night with them and they really ended up making my kit sing. It's brought the love back for drums for me! Totally recommend! (I use 2 toms and a snare, so got to use the 12" skin to replace my 12" snare skin. My snare is a 12x7 Mapex Black Panther, and it sounds awesome now! So much so I'm buying back up's of this skin this week!

Best coated drumhead
If you like coated, this is your tomhead. I love to tune my toms a little low, with these badboys that's no problem! The coating keeps up for a long time. Nice fat attack and enough overtones to for fill different types of music.

Great heads for rock genres.
Love these!
Medium sustain, brings out the tone of the drum great. I have them paired with my G1 reso's, and they do a great job.
Can't think of any downsides to these, they look great, they sound great, great purchase overall!

Amazing tuning range
I have the G2s with Evans reso 7's on the resonant side and my toms now sound awesome. The tuning range is very impressive, for example I took my normally tuned 12" tom and used it as a low tom on a jungle kit and tuned it down to sound like my 14" floor tom

Amazing!
I have been using these heads as batters for my toms with Evans black chromes as redo heads and they sound killer! I play everything from jazz to metal and they really stick into any style with lots of attack and punch whilst maintaining depth and tone that other heads don't have. Are the best decision for tom heads!
