Fender Player Series Tele MN 3TS LH

This is my experience, maybe I was unlucky but here goes....So, apart from the minor quality control issues of sharp frets, a little hole between one of the frets and the wood of the neck, and a far from perfect finish – horrible dark marks in the wood grain (funny how they never show you this in the advertising or on demonstration promos!!), and the neck/fret-board coated with a thick glossy lacquer which made it look like plastic (all issues I could probably have convinced myself to live with), the big problem was with the body-shape. On the bottom-side where the Jack-socket is, the body had been squared-off to a right-angle, losing the smooth contours it should have, leaving it with an asymmetrical appearance. Plus, the actual socket protruded outwards as the shape of the body did not allow for a smooth fit. It looked bloody awful!! I kept looking at it thinking – this is not right!! How can this be? How could this possibly get through quality control at Fender? It looked nothing like the classic body-shape of a Fender Telecaster!! I felt so disappointed with it and, at 588 euros, it's a lot of money for me and was such poor value. Please, all you dealers out there (including Thomann), is there no way you can bring these issues up with Fender?
Anyway, a happy ending - I contacted Thomann the day after I had received the order, spoke to someone online who was very helpful, explained the problem(s) and that I was wholly unsatisfied with the guitar and was immediately advised to go through the ‘Return Product’ page on the website. This was quick and easy to go through, and I received an email within an hour with full postage paid for in attachment, all I had to do was print it off and take the re-boxed guitar to my local Post Office. Easy!!!!
So thank you Thomann for your excellent all-round service. This experience will not discourage me from shooping with you and it’s a pleasure to do business with you.
