Buttons have a beautiful vintage appearance but are very stiff in use at the beginning. If you are just going for the vintage look, just buy these, but if you want tuners that are a little easier to turn, I think you should buy Shallers.

The reverse gearing actually makes a lot of sense, but is of course very confusing when you have multiple guitars that run the other way.
The tuners look very good though and are the best option for a vintage fender bass aesthetic
