P
Great feeling, good balanced tension.

I've mostly been using Dunlop strings since my move to using 8 string guitars, they've been fine for the most part, but the tension is a little inconsistent across the set (the low B is far tighter than the rest, making the F sharp feel floppy in comparison) and they seem to go dead much quicker than my usual brand of string, D'Addario.

Getting D'addario 8 string sets for a reasonable price, and locally, is difficult, so while shopping for some other bits I took a chance on the Framus set and so far I'm very impressed.

Tuning stability is fantastic, they bed in very quickly after the first tune up. The tension across the set is far more balanced, allowing for tight playing on the low strings and wide bends on the higher ones, even on a longer scale 8 string.

The sound is on par with other strings, perhaps not as bright as some brands, but definitely usable and provide a pleasant midrange grunt to go with them.

I'd definitely reccomend these strings if you're looking for a fair priced pack of of ERG strings with tone that contends with more expensive sets. the only con is if you're particularly brand loyal!

They feel like they'll last a long time, no tone loss so far, absolutely pleased with the purchase.

Excellent set

Lasted longer than expected. Was almost what I was looking for. I am tuning to E1 instead of F1#, so I changed almost instantly with 0.090, but the strings are real good.

C
Good strings with gauges that make sense

Most of the time extended range string sets are a compromise, with either not enough tension on the low strings or way too much tension on the 5th and 6th strings.

This set understands that for most people using an 8 String guitar, the first 6 strings probably aren't going to be tuned much different from standard E, so they don't need to be heavier.

The 60 works well for the low B string but i've also had no issue tuning it down to A, but that's my preference. Similarly the 80 gauge is fantastic for F# and can be tuned down to E without issue.
