I've tried a couple of the bronze picks to determine the correct size for me first. Now I know size 7 is the best fit to my thumb, a harder material is worth trying. There is a stiffer feel compared to the bronze and a thinner, brighter sound, but on chords the heavier wound strings are quieter than the others. (4 string chords on zither).
