Short scale flatwounds
BobB 07.06.2014
Having tried a number of different strings (D'Addario, Thomastik, etc), these are the best flatwounds I have found for my Jimmy Wilson Landing L1 short scale bass with Bartolini CB-1 humbuckers. Expected GHS quality with good tension and are 'bright' enough to cut through the mix. Unlike other strings they maintain even 'strength' across the pickups from E to G - other brands have been too loud over the E - so make playing more consistent and kinder on the ears!! I don't know what they would be like on a Mustang, Gibson SG or other short scale bass, but they are certainly excellent with bass humbuckers. Very highly recommended.

Grooviest set on the market
borisiwanow 26.02.2021
Sounds huge and round. You have to get used to the feel but once you get used to it, you can't go back. I wouldn't recommend it enough if you want this Jack Bruce, Jamerson, soft and round tone.

Nice even strings
Anonymous 15.07.2014
I bought these to fit an inexpensive short scale bass and they were ideal. The sound was even across the strings and the windings had a smooth even feel. As the strings aged they mellowed and rather than going dull they settled into in punchy old-school sound. I'd say these are ideal flatwounds for rock n roll, soul and reggae.

Fantastic tone and feel
custom-freak 17.02.2019
i fitted these to a very cheap short scale and was amazed at the tone, very clear and classic flatwound sound, the tension is perfect, not at all floppy as i feared but a nice even mid tension right across the board. these have a great feel and after more than 8 months they still sound as they did straight out of the packet!

Classic flatwound-sound!

I use these on my PJ-Jaguar. They have a classic deep sound, which is exactly what you'd expect from flatwounds. They are also very comfortable for long practice sessions. Would recomend these to anyone!

Not suitable for Harley Benton Beatbass VS Vintage Series. They are too long.

Great flatwounds for shortscale bass
Reaky 04.03.2020
I bought these strings so i could replace the stock strings on my newly purchased Harley Benton p bass shorty as those were not good at all.
The GHS 3020L sounded great and felt really great to play and i was really surprised how much they improved the sound of the bass.

GHS 3020L Flatwound Bass Strings.
Anonymous 12.07.2014
I bought these for my Epiphone Allen Woody Rumblekat and they instantly added a lovely plummy vintage tone. Very nice feel under the fingers - the compliance isn't too high so they don't feel too stiff and like most flatwound strings, sound better as they age. Highly recommended strings.

I use these on a shortscale Harley Benton and they freaking rock! That's also a compliment to the bass. Killer budget combination.
