Gibson 57 Classic-plus installed at the bridge position
Stephen719 04.07.2013
The reviews I read before trying the '57 Classic-plus all indicated that this pickup sounded SMOOTH (and even quite 'fat'). I can't say I agree. It sounds great for thrashing, but for legato solo'ing it's way too zingy/edgy for my tastes, and not at all 'fat'. Rolling off the treble control helps a bit, but if I could roll back the clock, I wouldn't have chosen this pickup as it's a fair bit more expensive than an equivalent Seymour Duncan. Also, for a pickup that's billed as medium-high output it's got very little extra oomph than the regular '57-classic, if any at all. For the money, I'm disappointed.

Exceeded the expectations

What is there to say? Like my review on the normal '57 Classic, it's a proper Gibson Humbucker with the braided wire to it's easy to solder and install. Sounds exactly as hoped. Even after 10 years of use, they sound and respond like new.

Put the set of classic 57' on my Chinese ES335 copy. Got real Gibson classic sound. $200 axe + €200 pickup set = $2500 look, feel and sound. Awesome!!!

Great Classic Humbucker!
Anonymous 21.10.2016
I installed this humbucker over 3 years ago in my SG and the sound is just amazing. It achieved all the classic tones that i was hoping for. I do mainly rock and doom style music and for that purpose it served wonderful but it doesn't stop there. Considering it's versatility,i think it does any classic tones you want it to achieve, clean and distorted.

T
Great sounding pickup
Templar 25.06.2019
I bought it to replace an old pickup in a 1990 LP custom copy (Burny RLC-65) and it sounds great just as expected. It was easy to replace. I play heavy rock / metal in drop C and this pickup does the job (maybe not as tight and clear as something more modern but I like this better). The main downside for me is the price. Other than that I'm pretty happy.
