The usual Hercules quality, but a loose fit
I absolutely adore Hercules stands - they've set a standard for me when it comes to instrument stands. I own a lot of them - for guitar, piano and now, this one for saxophone. And this is the first one that has left me wanting... more. It folds super-fast and neatly, comes with its own carry bag. A small fold out spacer to lift the bell away from the stand and increase stability. But, where I've found it lacking - is the foam U bracket that holds the horn itself, the main part of the stand. It is VERY wide and alto saxophone will have a loose fit, even those with a wider bore. I use it with a Yanagisawa AW-O1 and P.Mauriat 67R and both will wobble and slide to one or other side if bumped ever so slightly. I will try to squeeze and make the bracket fit the form a bit more tightly, but the stock format is just too loose for a firm, safe grip.

Holds the saxophone and is sturdy
There is not much to say more than the title. It is a sturdy stand and it holds my saxophone. I ask no more of it.

Holds well my tenor
Solid and robust thing. Very happy otherwise but did attach a piece of champagne cork with a zip tie to keep down the little thingy that leans against the low part of the bell. Would be nice to have a simple way to lock it down. That complaint and goes into "stability", as that part moves without the hack. Anyway, very happy.

Very good
These work well. You have to know the trick of depressing the chrome studs to open / close the arms. Not difficult once you realise they aren't rivets. Very robust and stable.

Returned
I selected this to buy based on positive reviews here, but my experience is mostly negative.
Good things: legs are easy to open, they are wide and sturdy,so overall the stand is very stable. That yellow part makes it highly visible under feet, so less chances to stumble onto it.
Bad things:
- upper bracket is too big for my Thomann Alto, so it swivels on one side easily. And this braket is not ment to be adjusted, unless a lot of force to be applied.
- joint of the upright arm to the bottom stand is vobbly, it easily moves back and forth in rather big range, doe not inspire overall stability
- the whole construction is rather big and heavy when folded, no chance to fit it into the sax bell on the carry case
- the carry bag is made of that sinthetic non-vowen material, which is very thin and from my experience self-distruct within 1 year.
All in all - has to return it.

Hercules stelt nooit teleur

Pleased with my Sax Stand
I needed an inexpensive but solidly built sax stand to hold a tenor sax. I already owned a Hercules Bassoon stand which has been a more than solid performer over the years. I had high hopes for the sax stand, and was not let down.
I love the locking mechanism for collapsing the stand. It is solid, and the stand folds up nice and small. I also love the carrying case it comes with. I can see that it might give out under heavy use taking it to many gigs, but, I am treating it carefully and it's not being transported that much.
All in all, I'm very pleased.

Great saxophone stand
I am very happy of this purchase. The stand is super firm and stable, even though it occupies a limited space (smaller than most other stands). When folded it becomes very compact and easy to bring with you, which is nice in gigs and similar occasions. I have been using it for months with my tenor sax and never had a problem.
